The official Halo 2 Beta testing thread Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had any beta testing experience with the halo 2 beta. I have a few questions in regards of the downloadable content. I also know for a fact that there were beta build updates. Was this specificly a update from gs.net or was this an entirely different disk. I know that there is a beta build update 2 and 3. One of those has special gametypes and such that I would like to know more about. Basicly if you got info on the halo 2 beta post it up or let me know somehow. Even pics help. I know one of the updates or builds of the beta has this exclusive gametype that was not made into the final release:
Yep, hahaha, HeadHunter. I remember reading about that one back before its release! :thumbsup: Well... I cant really add alot to the Halo 2 Beta info... for some reason I cant seem to remember much. I have a ton of Beta pictures of Gameplay and stuff, but I am sure you have already seen it before as I found them on the net back around 2004. Just tell me if you want to see some... :lol: Ha, and it seems that the pictures I have were taken by the same people who took the Headhunter picture, so I am almost positive you have seen them....
There were many many differences and most can't be answered. Someone on here sold a copy of the halo 2 beta recently and said he would post his finds so I guess you will just have to wait. Can't say much but I can say theres a lot that didn't make it in to the final game. One thing I know is that there was a save film option in the beta but never made it in to the final as everyone knows.

Not too sure about that. It doesnt save a video on Halo 3, rather its a demo-file of sorts that is very small, and plays back while being rendered.
Yeah I just realised now CrAzY :110: Yeah your right Borman since most of the Halo 3 files are only 3-14 mb of code so maybe they had the same with the Halo 2 beta. Either way I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a copy of the disk.

The Emblems seemed to have had a lot more choices... (SPECULATION - Probably cut due to images you could make with correct combinations, or just cause they didnt fit). Seriously, thanks a lot. I have one question, and it is your choice to answer it or not, I understand completely if you wish not to... Was the Flamethrower or Mongoose in this Build?

That's awesome! I'm a big Halo2 fan (I just got done playing it for 20hrs or so at a lan party and on Xbox live). I wonder how Halo2 would have been different if they had a public beta like Halo3...
OMG the infomation and the pictures is one the best things I've seen in ages So many things taken out I'm really speechless right now. It would be great to see some of the things in the code that you found in game but I think it would need a person who was really good at modding. Just a few questions. How big is the disk. Ah thanks for the update. What of those new weapons and Vehicles is usable in the beta without hacking? Would be good to see some in game pictures if possible :110:. Also in your video are all those Halo 2 disks or?
