It is indeed as pimp as it seems, the fit and finish are great. If you are as big
a fan of olive drab / military looks as I am, you're be drooling right now!

I'm not so much a fan of halo 3 as I am of olive drab styling. I had about $160 in best buy gift
cards I had been trying to spend for months, I just don't need anything from best buy.

I entered the local best buy, and they six systems left of the ten each store got. To my displeasure,
they had treated the boxes like shotputs. Huge gouges, holes, and and corners bent in at an obscene
angle. they had obviously THROWN the boxes off the truck. I was wondering who in their right mind
would buy ANY 360 in that shape.

After checking the boxes, there were only two servicable units, so I took the best one
( the other box had a small scratch on it) I lined up to pay for the 360 and after processing all of
my gift cards and cash off coupons, the guy forgets to scan my cashback card. For every
    $50 I spend I get $5 back, and this equated to a missed $25.

15 minutes later at the service counter, the sales clerk drops the exchanged 360 on the counter
where there's a demagnetizer, and the corner goes right into the box. I had to make a mad dash
back to get the other box, and I didn't even let him touch that one, I even made him hand me
    the scan gun.

Needless to say, it's a sharp looking machine, and I can't wait to get a chromehounds faceplate on it.

    How loud is the unit?

I'm wondering if it's just got a standard Zephyr\Elite mobo or if it's got one of the 65nm chips in...

I'm with you on this one, the drab military finish does look pretty damned cool. Well done!

<p.s. that's a mighty fine well stocked larder at the rear of that table. From the blurry image it looks like at least 20-30 packets of biscuits lol>

It's impossible to get proper tea and biscuits in the US. Weak pissy tea
is passed off as "english breakfast", stale salty garbage as "Tea biscuits", and
    plastic extruded monstrosities as teacups.

When I spent some time at a recording studio (shameless call for 'oohs') I tried so many types of tea, only to discover that Strawberry flavored was the best, but it doesn't taste anywhere as good as it smells. Yorkshire Tea is still my favorite, with a McVities digestive or a Hob Nob. I'd really reccomend Yorkshire for a 'traditional' tea, lemon or strawberry for something different and Chinese tea for a real change. We always got it at our local Chinese (until it became a Japanese restaurant, must've been Manchurian) and although an aquired taste, its really good.
Of course, you probably know all this and I just sound like a condesending cock.

You know if I had a lot of cash, I would bring tea to the USA - not withstanding the "Boston Tea Party Round 2" I think a HUGE amount of money could be made...

...but I am too damned lazy...

<Sitting here with a real porceline cup, with real Earl Grey tea in it! MMmmmmmmm!>

Back on topic, please tell me the details are finished off properly and not some rubbishy transfers or something :noooo:

It's painted on, as are the "mud splashes". The only cheap thing is
the HDD has this orange film on it; it's just the normal hdd with
some crappy vinyl over the metal.

It comes with a special regcode card for a custom desktop (halo3)
and gamer icons. I am tempted to sell the card (like the wow
special mounts in the card game).

Well the gigantic shielding on the 360 would not be so
    attractive....

Ohhh yeah, thats right. Well, it might still look ok. The third party cases aren't too hideous with the giant XX crap underneath.

I'm a bit worried because the warranty sticker looks a bit iffy, like it was twisted when it was put together... I am worried that they might not
    honor it.

I wasn`t too fond of it when it was announced, But sitting at home on a table freshly unpackaged it looks brilliant. Very nice unit indeed shame that the store clerks fuck up all the boxes, its enough to make collectors cry.

I was going to pick it up, but the lack of a 120 GB Hard Drive and no Halo 3 was sort of a shitty way to package it.

Well it has hdmi, battery, charge n play, and a free "elite" card with all kinds of serialnumbers for special downloads for halo 360 only.

    Besides that....

I only bought it because I can use hdmi, I didn't have a 360 anymore and
    this one was purty.

What the heck do you have on your hdd that you need 120gb?
Lots of expensive DRM filled non transferable TV shows? I hope not...

True, it is meant more for people who do not have a 360. I don't really watch TV shows or movies on it, but I do put pictures, music, and buy a bunch of Xbox Live games. I only have about 4 GB left on it, and that is with no demos and such.

But yeah, otherwise it looks great. Didn't know about the battery and serial numbers, though. Great collectors item for those who don't intend to use the hell out of it, too.

EDIT: You know what is ironic? Not a few minutes after I post this, we had a power surge while I was playing Sonic 2 on it and it gave me the Red Ring of Death. Fortunatly enough, it went away after I unplugged it and turned it back on. Scared me for a minute...
