So can someone just confirm for me, If I buy this PCB:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-pcs-PC...cal_Test_Equipment&hash=item2a111b5e95&_uhb=1

    This ac input:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-ASUS-...uting_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item35c8e700bf

    And these batteries:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/blister-eneloop-HR-4UWXB-battery-capacity/dp/B00B49IFIK/

Then it will be a simple job to solder it all up and then The controller will be re-chargable?

    Thanks.

Made some more progress tonight, I started re-casing the wireless adapter. Here's a pic of the black over sized wireless adapter and the bit I cut from the cable that I'm going to use:

As you can see the board is only slightly bigger than the Sony bit, so after a bit of cutting I'll get it in:

Because I've gone threw so many controllers to make this project happen I had plenty of spare parts laying around, as the board doesn't quite fit I have to plastic weld 2 of these together:

    Now it fits nicely :D

Before and after, already looks so much better:

Now it matches the memory card, I would have preferred if the memory card and receiver stuck out the same amount but the receiver was too big, I'm still happy with it though.

    Another before and after:

I've just got to solder some blue LED's to the board, cut some holes for them to poke threw, do some more filler work then this bit will be done and ready for paint :D

Liking the updates. Will you be using blue tinted acrylic for the CD window?

i would have preferred if instead of making an hour glass, you had the two arrows on the receiver point towards inserting it into the console. like this >> kind of like the symbol for fast forward or rewind.

besides that, this is looking so good

I shall just be using clear perspex for the window. And it will be painted something like this, (I'm terrible at using photoshop btw)

Yes I agree that would look better, I was hoping to just have one arrow pointing towards the console, but because I have to use a lot of filler in that area it would be hard not to get the filler in the arrow, so Im just going to fill and smooth over both arrows.

Those PCBs are a protection circuit for lithium batteries... they protect the cells from over charging, or over discharging... not what you want, or need, if you're using nimh batteries.

To charge two? nimh batteries in series, you could just use a fairly "dumb" charger.. something to apply a fixed current to the batteries, that is within the batteries specs ;)

I have this broken rechargeable battery pack from my dads metal detector, it has the same kind of rechargeable batteries that I need to use so I've taken the PCB out and thought it might be exactly what I need. I'm assuming that because the batteries are 20 years old It's probably them that are broken and not the PCB. It has an AC adapter socket on it and the board is nice and small. Does anyone know if this would work for what I need just by looking at it?

I'd be inclined to use a genuine xbox 360 rechargable battery pack (if there is such a thing?) as the cheap ones will use the cheapest possible batteries and circuit possible :p

Yes you can get official Microsoft ones, I will defiantly get one of those instead of a cheap one. And do I just remove the batteries and PCB from the xbox pack, then solder it to the positive and negative points where the AAA battery's would normally go?

Most likely, but without actually seeing it, I can't confirm 100% that this is correct :p

Sorry to bug you, but could you tell me where or how you will get that tiny PS logo on the inside? The one that is colored like the ps logo on the standard machine? Is it a sticker/decal or some sort of stenciled work? Thank you.
