Well you might want to try tracking down a tested working Zapper to buy or borrow and see if it works for you. The Zapper you have if it doesn't look physically damaged is probably repairable. You could possibly find out if someone around here repairs Zappers.

I've read some people who have opened their NES systems might mess up one of the connections on controller port 2 which can stop the Zapper from working too.

Your TVs should both work without much or any problem. You just need to figure out if the Zapper is faulty or if it is the NES. Trying a different Zapper is likely cheaper.

Are we sure they're SDTVs? Sets that accept 480p or greater are much more likely to not like Zapper.

There's loads of them on eBay, most of them are less than $10. You can even get brand new reproduction ones if you're not bothered about whether it's an official Nintendo one or not and just want to play.

^^ now would be an EXCELLENT time to put somebody responsible on, get em at the keyboard!
    ....
no doubt the account is shared by the household (as you're young) so if anybody at home is a retrohead and can articulate themselves in your stead, it would help ALL who is trying to assist in a resolution!
    ...
do some prior research too, so your subjects have the required info in advance!
    ...
good luck to getting a shooter! :friendly_wink:

The Zappers are really temperamental units so they do break quite easily. In the US they're not difficult to find, so start hitting up your local thrifts, swap meets etc and you should find them quite cheap.

Also find out if any of your extended family has CRT's and try it on their TV.

Region shouldn't matter really for the gun (not an issue with Sega stuff anyway). It's weird, but I read folk have issues with flat screens + guns. My sony trinitron works flawlessly with my Sega master system (standard gun) and mega drive (justifier)? That is also through the rgb scart - component convertor.

Well there your answer guys.... looking at his one sentence reply. I am afraid that there is little we could do on our end to assist him (you) on this matter. Perhaps getting someone older in your family to read our suggestion or perhaps get him/her to provide and write and explain the additional details required by us to proceed further.
