Yeah! Sega is coming back! So is Atari! OMG SO ARE ARCADES!! Seriously though I highly doubt they're ever coming back
Does anyone care anymore? It is basically irrelevant now. Sega's games are generally turd. Not enough to justify a system for Segas games alone. Theyd need a lot of clout to market and push a system against the current three. I used to love Sega. But they are dead to me now. I see the SEGA logo on a box, and I generally think, thats going to be average.
I agree with ASSEMbler, I think Sega has been through a lot of bad times and made a lot of mistakes along with a few cases of just bad luck; but I think they will eventually turn around. When? Who knows. Will they ever make a console again? Once again, who knows, but I would say I doubt it; and thats coming from a gigantic Sega fan. I still remember when I found out about them getting out of the console business. Haha, I even saved the newspaper from that day, it was on the front page. As much as I would love to see them get back into the console business, I just don't think it will happen. If it does I will support it with all I can from a consumer standpoint, but it would probably just be another big risk to blow up in their face...
If Sega keeps putting out games like Bayonetta and gives VF5 Final a console release and Sonic 4 turns out amazing I think They'll be close to turning things around. I hear All Stars Racing is pretty good too.
I've yet to try Bayonetta as I don't have a PS3 at the moment, but I'm very curious about it. I need to go pick that up. Though that will also have to wait till I get a job going again All Stars Racing looks like just a fun game, which is not a bad thing. I enjoyed the Sega Tennis game they released awhile ago. Mostly because both just play on my memories and include characters and games I loved in the past, like the Nights release did to me. All in all, there just little games for fun, but they are fun. I couldn't say I really found anything wrong with them, just a simple game to have some fun with. I would assume All Stars Racing is the same way. I'll probably pick it up eventually as well, or at least rent/borrow it.
Don't get Bayonetta on PS3 that version is buggy as hell. The Tennis Game is kind of EH gets frustrating around I think the House of the dead part
Who knows what will happen, perhaps the current big three will all shoot themselves in the foot by overdoing the motion controls and casual game thing. Leaving space wide open for Sega to step in with a powerful console with more traditional controls. While many Sega games in recent years haven't been up to their old standard, having a console to support would probably drive an improvement in quality.
If they keep publishing games like Bayonetta, they'll do just fine. I'm playing the game right now, and it's seriously one of the most fun/entertaining gaming experiences you'll ever have.
But for every Bayonetta Sega makes they have like 2 sonic Heroes. they have a good list of games, but their CRAP to GREAT Ratio is like 2:1
That guy whathisname is a true n00b, he's what I call the "guns with rockets with bombs" syndrome. How do kids (and idiots) make cool stuff? by pilling stuff over and over. Just like the average redneck/ricer-douche thinks any shitbox car can beat a porsche with a cheap-ass turbo and a fartcan (and dont forget the VTEC stickers!) This guy here thinks that by pilling up the most expensive PC hardware he hears other people talking of, with just that you can have THE console. If we were in 1995 this guy would be saying that the Saturn will have a Pentium Pro, a Voodoo1, 128MB of RAM and 4.1 soundcard, or whatever shit was really expensive and highend at the time. Obviously he doesnt know a thing about economics (that would be a $2000+ console, who's gonna buy it?) or licensing ('cause intel lets everybody use x86!) . I can buy it if it was a one-off arcade setup, but he lost all credibility when he added the word "console" to his make-believe news.
