They make their software run like shit so it makes dumb people think their computer sucks. Then they go and buy a mac. You should try it again, it's much better battery life wise. I had the same complaint early last year but it is much better now. I'm using a 30GB Video 5G.
I don't think anyone so far has advocated any of those programs, though doubtless people still use WinAmp for whatever reason (it's a hateful program as far as I'm concerned, for most of the reasons iTunes is too). I used to use QuickAlternative but since VLC supports QuickTime video there doesn't seem to be much point these days. Honestly it's been so long since I needed to play a .mov that I don't really care either way.
I always have to help my sister set her music up on itunes. The menus/options are a mess IMO. I have a Zune and the Zune software is a breeze to use. I can get MP3s from amazon of wherever no problem, or use those leftover Xbox live points to get a song of two. The Sansa Clip is even better with drag and drop.
Honestly I think Apple software for Windows is crippled by design to make the PC platform look bad when comparing the pieces of software cross platform. I'm sure some moron out there is going to go buy a Mac just for iTunes, because their "win doze" machine cannot work properly with their iPod. Of course these are probably the same people who actually like Apple's advertising campaigns.. Oh and before some smug fool blames me of Apple bashing I will have you know that I have a full Mac and PC setup side by side and use them both regularly.
I've thought so for a long time, but I dunno if it's "crippled by design" as much as not wanting to put that much effort into software versions for competing machines.
But Macs are PCs at heart, they're sitting on PC hardware. It must clearly be an OS thing, no doubt. (sarcasm)
iTunes keeps all my music in a list and plays it when I click on it. I don't know where people struggle with that.
This means that either: 1/ Everyone else in the thread is wrong or 2/ You just don't notice how shit it is. If it's 2 then hey, all power to you.
Yeah I'm not okay with a ton of my songs being skipped when I play my entire library just because they're not checked off. But then if I check them they sync to my iPhone and it gets overloaded and has no room for what I really want. Maybe I just don't get how this is supposed to work, but isn't supposed to "just work" maybe I should head on down to the Apple store and line up for my iLobotomy. Then again after getting myself thrown out of the store last time I was in there I'll just take my Windows Media Player and stop complaining.
Speaking of those, I hate the apple commercials. They compare a fat guy and a good looking guy and calls them "PC" and "Mac", but fails to see that "PC" can lose weight, change clothes, get a new haircut, shave the mustache, get lenses instead of glasses, etc, while "Mac" will always stay the same.
Remember that time I downloaded the Smashing Pumpkins catalog 1 song at a time then posted a thread about...and pissed everyone off and yelled at them becuause they totally missed the point.... Yeah good times.... I'm still paying for that now. I had a zune a year ago...thing was DOA, it wouldn't charge up and the software didn't find Untagged MP3s. Windows media Center is the same way.
I had a zune a year ago...thing was DOA, it wouldn't charge up and the software didn't find Untagged MP3s. Mine was a refurb, and has performed flawlessly for the last 3 years.
Yeah... you're doing it wrong. Check the box that says, "Manage Songs Manually," then just click and drag whatever you want onto your iPhone. EDIT: And keep everything checked so it will play when you're just playing songs from your Library on shuffle or whatever.
I'm not about to manually drag several thousand songs onto my phone just so I can have the apparent luxury of playing them all on my desktop setup. Not to mention that most of them are entire albums and there should be no need for me to drag album after album when I should just be able to make a simple sync relationship and have it managed by the system itself.. I'm not doing it wrong. It's poorly designed and simply not made to be used by anyone that is aware of everything else that is out there.
