are these known to exist? On a different note is there any news at all about the Ecco 2: Sentinels of the Universe Beta that StingerHu was plastering around. I remember reading the letter stating that the pics/vids were to be taken back. I want to play it damn it!
Hmmm... I'd definitely think Rent A Hero would be a sweet release. By reviewers copy, was it one of those finished games that just didn't get put out for idiotic reasons. If thats the case, well then that just pisses me off.
Hmmm Super Aleste proto as seen here would be interesting: http://disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/secrets6.html
Actually moving on to this emulator discussion topic I started has reminded me of yet another holy grail I'd love to see. The 70% complete proto of Bleemcast The source code for Bleemcast Now this would be another huge find
You can get that on many torrent sites man if you mean the version where you can play every PS1 game on DC.
I know there is a leaked prototype of Bleemcast on torrent sites, however while it can work for most PSX games it was apprantly only 30% complete. However, this is a fairly early representation of the Bleemcast teams progress and apprantly a prototype that was near 70% ready was completed. There's more info on this site and this old DC Emulation thread
If we were tlking about consoles it would be sweeeet to own a TeraDrive, a SnesND (the one made by phillips, as shown in EGM), the Genesis VR headset, the early N64/Ultra64 from E395, or even a Blackbelt. But since we're talking about games: Sonic 1 Alpha: you know, the one with the big welcome sign, and the UFOs and different clouds. Sonic 2 Beta: I'm not talking about the one that got into the intertubes a while ago since apparently that was the alpha. This beta should have most of the lost levels 70% completed. Zelda64: this is the early demo nintendo used to showcase the Ultra64, and it looks very different from DD/OoT. Virtua Fighter 3 Saturn: while I tought this didnt get pass the paper&pencil phase, recent rumors say that there was a pretty advanced beta. If it used a expansion unit or not is yet to be revealed... MGS E396 demo: being considerable different from E397 and the final version, it would be interesting to give it a try... The Dreamcast E398 showcase: I know I know, most of those were techdemos, or even just screenshots (like Air Nights) but hey! it would be cool nonetheless, right? K Project: this is what latter became Rez, and its quite different. You can see a video here Rez Beta: this is the Rez version that has the lost levels. Sonic&Knuckles RPG: first they said there was a Genesis version, then a Saturn version, but the only time there was a rumor about an actually WiP version of this game was during the DC era. Any alpha or betas would be cool to see. Halo Alpha: this is the very early Halo demo from before MC had their actual shape, and the elites looked almost completely different too. Halo Beta: the one in 3rd person and meant for Mac only, and was shown in macworld 1999 by Jobs. Halo 2 Beta: It would be great to see what was cut-out from the final version, altought meanwhile somebody could tell me what if was, since apparently some people already know... The Mario and Zelda GC techdemos: you know, the ones from the 128 marios (or more) and the Link/Ganon fight. I know the mario one is playable (or semi-playable) but no idea about Zelda... Saturn Shenmue: I HAVE to see it, hehe. Sonic Xtreme PC version: the one made by Ofer and that Wallis is constantly uploading videos of the levels. Thats all for now....
Btw Wallis only uploaded a video of the 32X tech demo of sonic based on the saturday cartoon show. Chris Senn is the guy who is uploading all the videos. But, yes the PC version of Sonic Xtreme is without a doubt one of the highest holy grails out there.
Something else that I would definatly LOVE to see is the Renegade Alpha (not the Beta that was tested publically) This is the Alpha back before they made the nod soldiers into faceless drones and the tanks into something out of Tiberian Sun. Several of the art assets from the alpha (e.g. some of the vehicles) exist online in various forms but there is so much stuff that has only been seen in screenshots.
Id love to See Some Rockstar Protos Like Bully and Early Versions of GTA3 onwards and Midnight Club Bully On Xbox would be a real treat
Theres some early screenshots of GTA3 around... Theres no big difference, it just looks like a lowpoly version of the game (yeah, it can have even less polygons)
