Could be a different scene. Monster positions and numbers change in all Resident Evils.

The footage has been recorded recently, looks like a straight stream off the game. Most likely recorded with a Hauppage PVR or the like. This is new footage and whoever uploaded it has the game for sure.

Sure thing it is straight stream, no arguning on that, but that doesn't say anything that it has actually newer stream than the 10 minute. You didn't get the point.

And your deduction that whoever uploaded has the game does not hold water - say if I put a epsxe HQ screenshot of 1.5 here, does that mean that I have the game?

Probably just using a better program to capture and has put a bit more time into how it looks.

Id love to see a spark of hope we might get it, but I dobt this is it.

It seems like it's just old footage (and some he maybe left out) moved about and re-rendered at better quality. Remember in 2007 youtube was still only 240p.

Well, both those scenes where the zombies burst through the shutters are triggered by Leon, in one he has a hand gun, in the other he has a shot gun. I doubt the same scenario will activate twice in one playthrough as that's generally not how RE games work, at least that's not how RE1 works. Once the scene has been played out, it will be checked off either the scenario or common flag list (or both, even) and therefore wont and can not activate again; unless the zombies decided to burst through the shutters twice in one night, or Capcom has some programming errors, or Curator had access to flag menus. I'm not making any suggestions here, just posting my observations. Either way, I'm confident that the same capture device was used in both sets of footage, and that the earlier PSM video was compressed and then further butchered by Youtube.

Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot etc are all hard to find. So, who has a copy, and is going to finally come fourth? I'm not interested personally, it's just that it must be very good if loads of people are interested in it.

more likely the rarity of it is keeping the price up, once released they would drop a considerable amount, to be honest im past caring; if someone releases them then thats great, if they want to keep it between themselves and the other elitists then thats also fine, after all they paid for it, just dont like anyone who has the "na na look what i have and you dont have" attitude, sad and childish

if anything does exist then i just dont want it to be lost forever because some up their own arse guy kept it to himself and didnt do a backup etc. its happened before and most likely will happen again

Hmm, I bet it does exist somewhere! It's just it's hard to find as the people who have it basically 'private' about what they have. I don't mind sharing info and pictures/videos on what I have. But if the actual game itself is to be released, i'd expect it at some price. I'm sure someone would make loads of money if they were to sell this game!

And yes, protos have been totally lost before because no backup was made, i've experienced this on a Tomb Raider Beta, the whole thing was lost forever cause it was 'lost' on someone's computer without a backup.

It likely wont be lost forever; It looked like for a while that there were some copies made I think. I dont know if that was confirmed or not though.

Wouldn't a copy have been given to Magazine previewers?

Well then, more than one copy is likely to exist. Hopefully, one will show up!

Doubt a magazine would let the disc leak, it'd have basically stopped them getting any game previews at all, and getting sued, afaik they generally got screenshots or games, took some screenshots of them and either returned or broke the disc.

some of these mags don't exist anymore, a copy could have been made and stowed away.

Easily ... I'll be amazed if this never happened!

I have some pics from an old Edge to upload later, mainly showing Leon in the RPD basement with the giant babboon thing ...

There used to be a 3rd party game/app testing place near here, and they had black bin bags right outside the door with snapped discs, when they got liquidated, all that was left in-tact was a windows ME tour/help disc.

Happened all the time during the 80s and 90s. Game developers sent stills to magazines as a form of promotion. That's why you'll find the same screenshot a hundred times through all of the magazines.
