Info about Resident Evil 1.5

Yeah that's it. Ah I thought it played the same lab music as the rest of the place, my bad Lol.

 

No originally the music we now know as the re 2 umbrella lab was initially only going to play when you walk in to the low temperature lab, where you get the fuse.

I really am torn with this subject, while id love a version to be released I also partly don't want it to happen as if it does what do I have to lust over!

Somethings are better when only being looked at partly, I think the whole mystery and enigma of resident evil 1.5 will probably be far me interesting overall than the finished game. I have a huge interest in this aswell as the other unreleased resi stuff ( 0.5, 0 on N64 and all of the resi 4 versions).

I know hands down id play it if it did get a release but would it spoil things?

It would be amazing if this was released on the same day as RE6 (October 2nd). The contrast of a brand new survival horror experience with what RE has evolved into today would be really interesting to experience.

 

I have a feeling that it will be released on Halloween

 

Either that or October 2nd would work well. October 2nd is when RE:6 is released. Oh how I'd love to see the reaction from Capcom

To be fair, releasing it on the same day as 6 comes out would be worth it, just for the reaction from capcom alone! Would be priceless!

 

I'm not doubting that a lot of restoration has gone into this, but I really suspect those behind fixing 1.5 are tactically holding back on a release to deliberately undermine Capcom's efforts - perhaps due to growing resentment within Resident Evil's fanbase at the direction this series has taken in recent years. With the company pinning its hopes on so many high profile "new style" additions to the RE money-spinning empire at the moment (including 6, Retribution and Damnation), an October release for 1.5 could potentially be used to raise awareness of just how much interest remains in the old "tank control" era, which seems to have been forgotten officially. I know which title I'm looking forward to the most, and it's not part of the canon as far as Capcom is concerned!

I've certainly not heard any direct talk of a leak on either Halloween or to co-incide with the launch of RE6, but the sheer amount of media that's been surfacing over the last few weeks is definitely a good sign that we may indeed be very close to playing at least some build of 1.5 at last. As for whether or not this leads to owners of the more desirable later versions reconsidering and putting their copies out there as well remains to be seen, though I suspect a large amount of the work this team has been doing is related to obscuring any artifacts that may help Capcom to identify the source of such a leak. Those responsible for this effort clearly know they risk facing a legal response from Capcom, and I reckon the community will soon benefit from their overall secrecy...

 

I'm still torn on 6, i think i'm gonna hold off until it hits a sale or something. Leons scenario looked pretty old school horror from the demo and that interests me, but the rest looked pretty mediocre to pure garbage. I will go see Retribution though, but that's partly due to having a free cinema ticket voucher i need to use. If it isn't released around October-ish, my bet would be Xmas which i think would be exactly 6 months from when this project was revealed?

Aw man now that's a shot of nostalgia, i haven't played Time Crisis in years! Totally gonna dig that out later, fun way to pass time waiting for more news on this :wink-new:

 

On an unrelated note, I just found out that you(Gemini) are the owner of "Devil Hackers". I was going through the "Some Cool 1.5 exclusive screenshots" thread on THIA again, and that was mentioned.

I am actually currently playing the translation patch you guys did of Akumajou Dracula X: Gekka no Yasoukyoku (aka Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in the western world). Funny how small the world is sometimes. You guys have done an excellent job at keeping to the original names of the monsters and whatnot. Good stuff.

 

I can only imagine how fast capcom would pull down the trousers of the leaks if they found out "who dun it".

Crazy to think about the legal side of things for something that's pretty much been dusted off and left for dead ( no pun intended) by capcom. I guess they really have no interest in this game, but just worry it will affect the current games in the series. I personially think it would do the series good, certainly got the interest of enough people.

Then again, there not making any money from this are they...
