I'm playing with ePsxe and you?

Like i said: this is not the Resident Evil 1.5 "fixed" or "original version".

We can only download a working progress version.

Well, now I can see why they thought this game needed fixing. Everything's a mess.

Unless that's a result of their tampering with it. I wonder how all the people who have been keeping this game to themselves are taking this now?

This was released by the people making the restoration. Don't think they are that bothered.

    Far as i know

The items (you can pick it up by using select+L1), does match from a japanese item list which got translated for goro macida
If am correct the mp5 would crash after selecting and going back to the game, thus causing a black screen before you could see the weapon, in 1.5 you can see it, but if you attemp to aim with it, it will crash
Grenades use the same icon from the PC version files.

The last time someone tried to sell a copy they put out the "antiscam" video remember? They could have just done the same this time but chose to release this. Maybe it'll pacify people for a while and serve as a sort of public beta test, whatever their reasoning i'm happy that finally, finally, a sort-of playable build of this game is out there! :biggrin-new:

Look forward to 15 minute video of Resident Evil 1.5 from me.

Followed by my own RE1.5 content that I've been concealing. ;)

Looks like this NEEDS to be played on an emulator, my real PSX hardware crashes at the drop of a hat in certain rooms where weird things happen in the emulator (for instance Iron's office), PSX crashes upon entry (character freezes at the doorway), emu soldiers on and displays a flashing character in the middle of the room. Same with the outdoor bit with the box, on the emu the character appears in the middle of the box (where it shouldn't, the PSX hardware crashes loading the door animation.

    Oh well...

Wow, so wierd to finally play this game. but it definatley needs the work done on it and cannot wait for the final "product" none the less. I managed to trigger quite a few cutscenes including one with roy

It just crash everywhere. No matter you use Xebra or Mednafen, by far the most accurate emulators out there (except POPS).

I made a short video but i was bored of GPU FIFO errors ^^

It crashes like mad on hardware and since Xebra is so good at emulating a real PS1, it's probably the reason why it's crashing the same. Epsxe, which is pretty shitty, surprisingly runs this without many crashes at all.

Yeah, I've been having a butchers in ePSXe, it's a damn sight more stable than real hardware and they did say this version would be garbage anyway, emulator seems to be a lot more passive with what it's willing to display - hardware just says "Nope". lol

This videos interesting, it looks like the version we just got but the train (at 1 minute) and outdoor area B (at 2:28) aren't accessible on the version just released, are they?

You should definitively use the screenshot function next time. Getting pictures of your screen isn't that nice to the eyes. :S

Just tested this on my Slim PS3 3.55, I used One 11.11.11 to boot it. Booted up great, Didnt crash anywhere. Lost Eliza off screen a couple times, But used the debug and jumped scene and it fixed the issue.

I sincerely hope the team/guy doing that restoration project is not using only epsx for testing otherwise we will end up with something unplayable on hardware and future, more accurate emulator. Many SNES ROM hacker made that mistke and now a bunch of cool stuff is only playable on older version of crappy emulator.
