Is there a silent fan for the Dreamcast?

My fan is loud, I've just installed a USB-gdrom and DreamPSU and the fan is the only thing that's loud. Do I even need a fan? Because with no GD-drive and a dreampsu installed that has very little heat I'm wondering do I even need one? If so where can I find a very quiet fan for DC?

That's a lot of hassle just for a fan. My DC doesn't even get hot anymore now that I changed the psu and no gd rom drive.

 

Drop the fan to 3.3v and it’s a lot quieter.

 

How do I do that?

 

I used a picopsu but you should be able to grab 3.3v from the power supply.

 

That fan is just way too small. I replaced it with a bigger, slower one right outside the original one's vents - it's quieter, but a) still far from silent and b) looks like shit, so don't do that.

Btw, if you remove the fan altogether the console will refuse to boot, but if you want to try anyways you could put a simple 555-based "spinning fan simulator" in its place.

 

Do you have a recommendation on a fan that would be small enough and would fit?
