Would machines exported by lik sang et al. count in those sales figures? Because if they do, then thats even more damning...

 

Hmm, I'm actually quite suprised to see the GBA near the bottom of the list. Anyone know the reason for that?

 

182 Xboxs is hard to believe, but I do remember reading some post on size being an issue. I didn't think it was that big of an issue.

 

If size is an issue, then they are just too damn picky. I have a very small room and my Xbox fits perfectly on my Entertainmnet center. That center is almost perfect for me.

 

Most people buy the SP or Micro. Thats just the original GBA.

 

Yeah, but compare that to how many 360's they sold at this time last year.

What's the saying about "walking a mile in someone's shoes before something rather"? Japanese have small rooms, and unfortunately, they often don't have any other rooms attached to their measly one. That was my case anyway. I'm sure the Xbox could fit in just about any Japanese home, but it's still an eyesore in comparison to just about every other console. That, and most of the games were American garbage killed it.

Small, compact shit sells well in Japan, while big clunky American stuff does not. Microsoft learned this the painfully hard way. Notebooks and iMacs sell (sold) like hotcakes.

Tecmo must be one of the few Japanese companies (maybe the only one) that actually benefitted from making exclusive games for Xbox... Pretty hilarous that 4 out of the 5 best selling titles are Team Ninja games.

Before you leave, don't take my comment out of context. Xbox is a mainstream American system Most games = American crap. PS2 on the flipside, has a pretty large assortment of Japanese crap (and some American bullshit thrown in as well). Don't think I'm not afraid to bash a system just b/c there are good games for it. They're both mainstream games that appeal to mainstream dorks... it's inevitable that the majority of the games are fodder.
