Ooo. Thats a good one. I remember seeing that game but never trying it out. Thanks for that one  It was refreshing to have a game that could kick my ass and mock me for playing in kiddy mode. -- update -- Minor update. I made a small order and got Kururin Squash & DK jungle beats (the 2d platformer one). I only went with DK since it got favorable reviews and was only $5
The first Metroid Prime is awesome, if yo like Super Metroid, dont' ignore it, it isn't a FPS, is a real Metroid. I have all Viewtifuls, the second one is more of the same, but you can control Silvia. Red Hot Rumble is like Super Smash Bros, I don't like it. If you want strange japanese things for de the Gamecube, you don't have many options, and for some, you'll need to read, or even speak, japanese, for example, Odama, the strategy pinball, but I think that you already know about it, because it was released worldwide. The rarest game that you can play in GC is Ohenro-San: Hosshin no Dojo, is based on the Ohenro pilgrimage, Importaku owns a copy, so he can tell you more about, also here is some info written by him: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8129&highlight=ohenro Other japanese games are Giftpia or Homeland, but if you can't read japanese, you can't play them, unless you use a FAQ, here is a preview for Giftpia: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/other/gamecube/giftpia/giftpiaprev.html And another one for Homeland, this one is the second online game for GC, so I assume that now must be hard to play it online, but you can play it alone: http://cube.ign.com/articles/595/595733p1.html
I found a copy in Tokio, but I wanted the one with the broadband adapter, maybe i'll find one this summer.
If nobody saw my edit of my last post. I ordered Kururin Squash & DK jungle beats from play-asia this morning ($29 total including shipping). Erm. I did try it a few times but I could not get over the fact I prefer to play metroid in 2D. Red Hot Rumble is just pure crap. I have it on PSP and it's a horible game sadly. I'll have to check out Giftpia or Homeland.
If you're a fan of platformers, I'd recommend the GC update of Bonk's Adventure: PC Genjin. And also Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima if you liked the original.
Oh thats right. Now that is something I want! -edit- How was load runer (it was apart of the Hudson Selection line)?
I found that a few mins ago. Pretty much looks awsome to me (I like simple stuff like this sometimes). Just wish I could find it somewhere for cheap ($20 or less).
Sorry, I didn't looked at the version http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search/auc?p=%A5%AD%A5%E5%A1%BC%A5%D3%A5%C3%A5%AF%A5%ED%A1%BC%A5%C9%A5%E9%A5%F3%A5%CA%A1%BC&auccat=0 You have two,but they'll soon, maybe you can ask someone around here to buy it. iJohn x3h; is the same as the previous, if you liked them, you'll like it.
Homeland is still equipped to go online, they closed the matching server but during the last days of online play a mysterious person appeared & told everyone playing, a secret word that would allow you to connect to another cubes ip address http://gamecube.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1471 I have written guides for both homeland & giftpia, the giftpia one is pretty much complete but the homeland one is still missing quite a few bits of info. Giftpia http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jasonmuir/giftpia/Menu page.html Homeland http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jasonmuir/homeland/Main page.html Giftpia is a lovely game & like nothing else, i love the island its set on the way the time of day changes & the way during midday the island heats up & you get this haze effect or how the islands radio station plays over the speakers that are dotted round the island.
I see that we share the the same interest for "strange" games , one question, is possible to play Homeland online with Wii?, maybe I have to buy the Ascii keyboard soon ; and thanks for the info
As far as im aware you need to have the BBA it won't go online with any other method, you can play it offline on the wii but to do the online storys you need to play it on a gamecube. I love the gamecube it has a lot of great games but quite a few of them never left japan.
ok, then I'll look for the bb bundle; do you know about more "rare" games?, i know two o three more, but they aren't very interesting. PD: Subbie, if you like 2D, another thing that you NEED is the Game Boy Player.
