Just obtained Resident Evil 4 Review / Debug Disc 1

Don't suppose it has any extra maps that were removed from the other versions, does it?

In the trial edition, you can access an entire list of maps from earlier builds of Resident Evil 4, but since they removed just about everything aside from what's actually used in the demo, they can't be loaded.

I'm guessing these areas were probably stripped from most later builds of the game anyway, but you never know.

 

I don't know, I haven't had much time with it. I'll have to check it out when I get back from school.


To the people who are asking for a release, I don't know yet. If people are interested, maybe.

 

From what I know about it, there are a few beta files, but nothing like 3.5 maps. Capcom seemed to have done a pretty good job of removing stuff, with some exceptions.

If people are interested in the release of both discs, we could raise some money so I can purchase disc 2 faster and release them both. If not, I can try my best to buy disc 2 myself but would take a little while.

I'm currently at school still, so hopefully I get some news before hand. I'll probably be playing the debug, and if people are interested, I could maybe livestream it.

If you are hopping to get what you paid for them I believe this would be easy to achieve but I honest don't know how much you payed so I can't speculate much more than this.

 

I'll get into details later, right now just enjoy the screens and hopefully video later. I'll talk about a fundraiser when more interested people get in contact and when I get home lol. I hate typing on iPhones.

 

I'd be interested in a release. Anything related to the history of Resident Evil deserves to see the light of day!

 

Glad everyone is more interested in this than Dark Souls debug. I'll have to talk to ASSEMbler on asking for a fundraiser for it.

Hey could you pick the unused file under the tree on the farm room?

 

Most games have items underneath so they can rehash the same code, but point it to something else. Good examples is Wind Waker under the Forsaken Fortress, they have small doors under the big doors to rehash the door code.

 

Just to chime in, I don't think it's fair if you're going to start a fund raiser for disc 2 and try to get the community to pay the whole thing off just so you get a free disc. Some of it has to be paid on your end to justify you being the one holding on to the disc, after all.

Don't know if that's what you were planning, sorry if it's jumping to conclusions. I just feel like there's more and more fundraisers coming out of nowhere and it's becoming people hoping for everyone to foot the entire bill for their purchase, essentially making it so they got a free game.

 

Who said it was going to be for the entire bill? I also didn't say it was the whole bill for disc 2, only a tiny bit, of course I'm going to pay with my money. When I released my debug files for Dark Souls, I didn't ask for the entire bill, only the bandwidth and maybe $5 for the disc. Though since the game was so recent, I only uploaded the different files. The only thing I ever ask for is the bandwidth fee, if people donate more, then I'm fine with that.

EDIT: I won't release this build after all. There are people telling me it is wise not to so I'll keep it to myself.

 

Don't take it the wrong way, I just was a bit confused since at first you said you'd try to get the disc in 2-3 days, but once people mentioned donations you said it might take a while unless people help out, so it gave me the impression you were looking for people to pay off a huge portion of it suddenly.

It's all just assumptions, I naturally look at everything cynically =p Too bad you decided against releasing it. Maybe someday in the future.
