However everybody makes mistakes - When I was his age there was a lot of people who were more than likely sexually active and there was at least 2 cases where 15 year olds got there self pregnant and kept the baby (all be it with someone older than 13).

All that matters is that the new born baby is looked after and tries to lead a normal life (obviously that's not going to be easy with the media spot light on them)

 

What a stupid bitch must that girl be whatsoever? I mean basically, she is fucking an 8-year old, right? Some kind of teenage-pedophilia? I don't see anything she could find attractive on him apart from looking like a child. Sick shit, including all parties.

Ah, but that's not strictly true. Another urban myth, spun out by the media. The Health & Safety Executive even sponsored last years 'Annual Conker Challenge'.

What they did was issue some guidelines and a few school head-teachers, sniffing lawsuit potentials took it upon themselves to ban conkers from their playgrounds. Usual media reaction 'Exclusive is The Sun... THEY BANNED FUN!'

I remember hearing the Chief Exec of the H&SE being interviewed on the radio and he was really upset that people took the guidelines and then banned conkers!

Yeah, that story has made it in the World Wide Media frenzy. She is clearly not entirely well, I mean she is addicted to having babies she is ill equipped to cope with. However, what stupid medical service actually allows someone with six children, no job and no home of her own to roll up saying 'Impregnate me!' and decides not to do sufficient background checks?

The way I see it, this woman is needing psychiatric treatment because she is addicted to having sprogs. In my view it's much worse than the underage case as there is a higher potential for these children to end up in care or being screwed up by a disfunctional family.

Don't blame the teachers. Child up-bringing starts at home. Yeah, teachers can be useless but if a child has good parents they'll know better. I don't think the education system is to blame here either. But it definitely plays its part, though maybe just in combination with other things. The parenting and social environment will have caused the biggest damage if you ask me. There're such shitholes in some families, one wouldn't believe it and what you see on TV is just the peak of the iceberg. The movie "Ex Drummer" portrayed that a bit ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USA2E06eLj4 ), very impressive film work and also pretty authentic.
But nevertheless, I don't think this sick shit (I actually just call it that because there's now a baby to be worried about, in my opinion these kids can do whatever they feel like sexually, lol) is an exception. In Germany the age of sexual consent is set at 14 and I don't think any randy young fucker could be stopped by setting the age higher, rather the opposite would be the case.

Yes indeed it starts at home, and by the time it comes to sex education the parents should have brought them up well enough to know what's right and wrong. That said, sex education starts at, what, 10? I remember at my primary school we watched a video (some basic crappy thing with an alien landing on Earth and wanting to know about the reproduction of humans lol) in year 6, and the final year was year 7. So yeah, we would have been 10. And they called our parents in after school one day to tell them they would be showing a film, and giving them the choice of 3 films to show. They let the parents decide. Now that's good education. Then I went to grammar school, so the education there was good, too. It just seems that teenagers aren't getting proper sex education or it isn't sinking in, particularly the repercussions. That, and they're a bunch of slags, in a lot of cases!

I know there's peer pressure and everything, but maybe we should be doing more (as parents and as educational institutions) to educate our children properly and prevent this sort of thing happening. Don't get me wrong, it is often down to poor parenting... but that seems to be a trend. It's basically herediatary - an attitude of my mum was a teenage slag so I should be!

 

I agree, there's definitely a need to extend the current system of sex education because it has not changed much during the last 30 years, environment did.
More than that, I think that kids are getting faster into contact with sex these days than maybe 10 years ago. When I was in the age of needing to be sexually educated (^^) I had no access to neither the internet nor older brothers who could have "educated" me instead. Today if you look into an elementary school, you'll see some children carrying Ipods with YouTube videos running or mobile phones with similar stuff. The internet brings you faster into contact with anything sexual and these days lots of 8-10 year olds have access to the web. If there's not anything told at school about how to cope with internet pornography (which can pop up anytime if you're too innocent to judge links and adverts correctly in advance) and the parents just let everything go, this can, in combination with a other aspects (as I said before), link to some serious consequences for the kids.

4 other young teenage boys have stepped forward and claimed to have also slept with this girl around the time that she became pregnant. One of them is insisting that there is a DNA paternity test done to establish whether he is the father rather than the 12 year old (who looks about 8). The lad in question's mother allegedly appeared TWICE on UK daytime TV show 'Trisha' (the closest we get to Jerry Springer over here). Nuff said!

By the time the father graduates, the son will be in elementary school.
Why it's perfectly legal for two kids that young to take care of a child is beyond me when as someone above said you can't have a drop of alcohol or play M-rated games until you're at least 18/21.

Re Schools. There are some useless teachers but there are now far more bad kids, a friend of mine is a social worker and he's had to deal with some of these kids and he feels sorry for the teachers. One kid in his charge was arrested for punching a teacher, so hard that the teacher fell over and hit his head and went to hospital, the kid was released pending a court date but the school refused to suspend him, so he came back and 2 weeks later he basically beat up the teacher for 'Disrespecting me' and all the teacher did was to tell the kid to stop using his mobile phone in class. The kid was placed under a supervision order but wasn't expelled just suspended for 3 weeks until his case comes to court.
