Its hype. He'll end up selling it for $400 in Japan and $300 in the US just like they did with the PSOne and PS2. Same god damn shit he's blabbering out back then too.

 

the psone lasted for long... and ps2 could have gone for at leasta couple of years.... if they'll achieve such a good game video quality as shown in the game prewievs.... it'll REALLY hard to make people buy a psx4 or xbox720°.....

Just wait it will drop sony isn't going to be high on my next gen hardware list anymore... It will be 299 in 2007. Does anyone remember broken ps2 new out of the box on launch day and waiting weeks to get a replacement. It always get better by v2.0 of playstation.

 

Not with the PS2! The first version to come out in Europe was the V3, and I know no one with working ones of them any more. I was trying to fix a couple of them thinking it was just mechanical issues/dead lasers, but it's turned out to be much more confusingly complicated than that. For starters, one of them now outputs in NTSC-50. And it was never modified in any way. Don't ask. Seriously.

 

Yeah in the us my cousin got one and it was broke the moment it came out of the box and when it did get replaced the second wouldn't power up so he had to wait another month to get his ps2 during a shortage time.

I have no intention of getting a PS3. I do however like the designs of the slimline PSone and PStwo. Can't wait to see the PSthree

It would be nice to see hardware generations last a lot longer though. Maybe not the current gens though (by my calculations we should still be playing SFami CD/Mega CD and looking forward to the release of the Saturn).

OT, though: I just can't see any console lasting 10 years, unless Sony likes losing money. Technology advances too fast to make predictions like that.

 

i think its this, its 2005 and the ps2 is in its 6th year, naturally the ps3 will hit when the ps2 is somewhere in its seventh year. now 10 years doesnt seem unreasonable considering that fifa2005 was released on the ps1 and so was nascar thunder 2004...i think what he's saying is that the system will be long replaced before the 10years is up, but games,admidably crappy ones will continue to trickle out until pass that 10 year estmate.....

oh and......i heard that recently....blue ray dvd players which are availble in japan(according to g4techtv) cost upwards of 1,000 usd...with the launch of the ps3 lumming only a matter of months away, its reasonable to think that the ps3 will not be priced at 400.....450 seems somewhat possible, but it would most likely be 500. if i blueray player cost 1000, then a ps3 which packs enough power to start a nuclear war would undercut a standard dvd player, i dont think so....

The problem its that he says that the reason why the PS3 is so powerfull and has bluray is so ppl wont have to upgrade it when the new generation arrives........

Thus, the PS3 wont be that expensive, since you wont`ve to buy a PS4 :ayashi
