That is genuinely Awesome - thanks so much, I haven't seen this in the British press at all. That really gives me something to work on now.

    Thanks so much!

Looking forward to seeing the other scan!

    From UK weekly "New Computer Express",16/09/89. I can't think of a more suitable game for the power chair than "Konix Chess";

Thanks for the scans, I can finally add a screen shot for chess and a new one for last ninja. Yes, I agree, konix chess and the power chair is just a dumb idea however you look at it!

Not me, but I know a man who has (and he's one of the original programmers).

Hopefully he may be able to carefully turn it on without it blowing up and may even (if we're lucky) be able to get some code running on it...

I would think there's a huge spiders nest in there, maybe even a mouse... it will certainly need careful cleaning and checking before it's turned back on for the first time again in over 20 years. Anyone have any advice on how to carefully juice a ancient box of electronics without them blowing up?

I don't know what his plans for it are yet - but it's here and it's real and it could start seeing the light of day again in public.

I'll keep you updated on further developments :)

A spiders nest? F*ck that! I hate spiders. I wouldn't go near it is it had spiders inside. saying that, I hope some one will get it up and running.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing it all nice and clean. It really is an amazing find. A dev kit for an unreleasd system. Not any old unreleased system but one that has a cult following as well.

This find is just too cool for words. By any chance, was this Jeff Minter's dev kit?
Unbelieveable to finally see one 20+ years after the platform was canned....

Nope - not Jeff Minters, I can't say who's it is just in case someone gets smart and tries to break into the guys house. I've now asked him directly if he'd like to part with it. He says he won't turn it on, so at least it won't blow up until it's had a good inspection.
It would be so cool to get it doing something - of course, it would be nicer to have it run a game from the time, but this is a major break-through already.

Also, I was sitting on some news and being a bit secretive for a while - but there's no need now.

A TV Producer approached me to make a documentary about the Multisystem. I gave him the contact details of guys I'd talked to, everyone was enthusiastic, but when he pitched the idea to the BBC they didn't want to commission it.

As part of the show, He was going to get the company that made the power chair to make a new one to the same spec (but maybe a little bit more robust) and hook it up to the emulator that one of the programmers had started writing, but has put on hold. He was going to use this in a one day game championship open to the public to come and play on.

We may have to seek alternative kickstarter style funding to make the show now, or maybe someone knows a TV channel / game show that would pay for it to be made (much better than raising the funds to film it then hoping to sell it to recover the costs).

AND... something else quick just to tease you guys - never publicly seen before (NEVER!!!!) footage of the Powerchair being constructed.

Don't look too hard around the website that link comes from, it's a work in progress re-vamp that isn't complete...

These new developments are so awesome. That 20 second clip showing the hallowed power chair being constructed is more fascinating to me than any news related to modern consoles. Never thought we would see any new footage of this platform let alone an actual dev kit surface, yet here we are!

I can't get over the relative lack of interest in these developments. Christ, we're finally seeing actual HARDWARE from the fabled Konix console yet hardly anyone seems to care. This should be front page material!
