yep, i'm still working under my device. progress is more stable work, i spent much time to find reasons of freeze. now it's more stable.
as DS supports my device, it can be used as menu.

i did talk w/ neuroacid , but he said to me only little basic things, and then no reply. anyway it's option, as DS is good menu))

I can't wait. I've got Fenix's collection downloaded-- all US games and the PAL exclusives.

Next I need to find the JP collection. All torrents I've found have no seeds, though.

Got my GDEMU today, working nicely. I'm trying to use the gdmenu and MadSheep's tool. It is doing weird things. Like it's getting the games mixed up. I choose one game from the menu and it loads a different one.
Where is the menu info stored? I can't see it on the SD card or the VMU

Edit: I think I know what was going on, the game wasn't working so it just skipped to the next working one.

I've noticed if I patch US games to work on my PAL DC they work, but run in 50Hz. Is there any way around that?

Does anyone have any news regarding the development/manufacturing of the GDEMU and USB-GDROM?

I was having the exact same issue, I dont have any proof, but i noticed that it only messed up when i manually sorted the games prior to transfer.

Is there any way to fix it? I didn't think the menu data was stored anywhere, I thought GDMenu just reads it based on folder names 01, 02, 03, etc
It looks all sorting does is renumber the folders in the right order.
    This is weird.

    I agree it is weird,
The only way i sorted mine was to start from scratch, reformat the card and just drop the folders into the program, but never sort them, just leave them as is,
and it seemed to have sorted it, although its bugging me not having the games sorted in the right order.

Also on a side note, I've noticed that when the game order is screwed up, it doesn't seem to affect the first 2-3 games, as in they are in the correct order.

As for the menu data, I might be completely wrong here, but im sure i read that the gdmenu can store a list file so that it doesn't have to read all the files. But like you said, it isn't on the sd card.
So my theory is that it injects it into the gdmenu cdi file, hence why we cant see it.
Ill have a look and see if i can see it.

Patch the console rather than the games.

Yeah, it does modify the gdmenu cdi file. Now my device is only reading the first 10 games. I have 14 on there, it was working fine before and then I put an unmodified gdmenu cdi in 01 and it only showed 10 games, now even if I leave 01 empty and cycle through with the button it only sees the first 10 games on the SD card.
Might be time to format and start again.

Yeah, I want to, but seems too difficult for me and first I'd have to get hold of a custom bios chip.

Just to be clear you updated your GDEMU to the latest firmware right? I had a problem with GDMenu where it'd list the same game over and over again until I upgraded to the latest firmware. Beyond that make sure you're using a good brand of SD card and that it has been formatted with the SD Association Format Tool.

Upgrading the fw was the first thing I did when I got it. I tried to upgrade again and the light didn't flash at all, is that normal?

It doesn't seem to recognise more than 10 games, which is why I would choose a game from the menu after 10 and it would load one of the earlier games.

Yeah, start from the beginning, use the SD Association Format Tool as SegaLife pointed out, and it should work without issue.
Might be worth leaving them unsorted, try the it out and see if the menu matches up with the games loaded,
Then sort the games how you like and check again, see if it makes a difference.

Can that tool format SDXC to fat32? It seemed to only do exFAT on my 64GB card when I tried to use it a while ago for something else

GDMENU works like if it finds the LIST.INI inside the image loads it if not then reads all the images

now if you add more games in GDEMU SD just check the menu option and the program will generate the new LIST.INI and will ask you if you like to customize it
if you like the menu to generate on the fly (reads all the images on load) the list just un-check the menu option on the GDEMU and add the original GDMENU image as normal game :)

Yeah, understood thanks. It still seemed to load the wrong game for me sometimes, I'll have top check the ini inside the image and see if it matches up. Also not sure why my GDEMU is only seeing 10 games. That has nothing to do with menu or your tool :)
I'll reformat and try again later

Wait are you saying you're trying this with an SDXC card? Its very possible that you've just got an incompatible card, as DK said in his latest post, there is no guarantee of any type of compatibility with any

No, sorry. I should have clarified that. I'm using a 16GB, but was planning on getting a 64.

Can anyone talk about the compatibility with the USB GDROM, I know the guy had released a few updates etc, I'm thinking of contacting him as I would much prefer just sticking a hard drive in the back, but wouldn't want to sacrifice compatibility. Any thoughts anyone?
