    I assume that there's not much point getting a high speed one and something like a class 10 will do?

    the only other thing I have done to my DC is the NTSC PAL60hz mod. (Bridge two points on the board) I will try the PAL one & see if it loads.

    Also mine is stock NTSC, since it's changed like how Sega would have done it. (So as far as the DC is concerned its NTSC, since its changed on the onboard bios)

    Update:

    Ok its not a region thing, since my DC is now NTSC the PAL version works fine, if it were a region thing then the PAL version would have the same issue.

    Pal Vanishing Point works great
    NTSC Vanishing Point crashes at Accessing Data.

    Tested versions.
    Pal = Vanishing Point (GB) (2001) [T-8110D-05] [345-5198-32121-0]
    NTSC = Vanishing Point (US) (Acclaim Entertainment USA) (2000) [T-8110N]

    So as of now I'm just going to use the PAL version. (VGA compliant)

    @Rocky5

    alright , I'll take your word that if you flash a DC it will be like a "genuine ntsc or pal" one (tbh I had no idea that sega also changed regions like that).
    but the fact remains that NTSC VP works just fine on my stock PAL DC (with the same usb controller, hdd and image and without any mods whatsoever on the console) and it fails on my region free one.
    It also works just fine on MNEMO's stock NTSC unit (and he had no idea it did not work for other people).

    edit:
    Region issues was not something I came up with, MNEMO said that to me once I reported that a stock PAL unit works. He said something about disabling region patches or something.

    edit2:

    I also think Gauntlet Legends NTSC freezes as well, I can't test atm to verify this since my DC is going through some psu/cooling mods ;)

    Gauntlet legends (US) works fine for me.

    as for the region patching (console) it's changing the actual region on the device, so you can go from, NTSC, PAL or JP-NTSC, it requires you to solder a wire to a resistor & supply it with 12v & a special disc to change the region.

    the 60hz mod is needed for some PAL games to work correctly, on NTSC region DC's.

    yes, I've done the region patch with the wire before I install the hacked bios , when bad_ad84 started offering bios chips I just replaced it since it seemed better. I guess all we can do is wait for MNEMO :D

    don't forget to format it to FAT32

    edit:
    i bought recently a 32gb FAT32 formatted card but it didn't work on GDEMU initially so i used this tool to reformat it and it worked :D so try this tool first: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/guiformat.htm

    On linux/mac/cygwin:

    mkdosfs /dev/sdc1 -s 64 -F 32 -n LABELNAME

    Replace /dev/sdc1 by the path to your card device, be careful not to format another drive!. The -s 64 option makes 64kB sectors, which enhance read speeds for bigger cards it seems. Replace LABELNAME by the label you want your card to have in file explorers (in capitals).

    Do the USB-GDROM have VMU backup, like the Everdrive64 has for the Controllerpak?

    Quite Possibly, but my thinking is, if he raised the limit previously, then why not again at some point?
    Also, if it dont work out, ive got a spare 128gb sd card for other uses.
    At least with a 128gb card i will be able to see if all 64 folders work with GDI files, assuming that it accepts the card in the first place.

    So the page on Mnemo's site says the USB Adapter is region free. No mod needed to the BIOS?

    True...

    You spent 110 euro on a GDEMU and you can't go to ebay and buy a dreamcast VA1 with a broken GDROM for under 10 euro shipped?
    Just get a new system, problem solved.. they are dirt cheap.
