You know I have my interests in it. I may have started this thread 8 months ago to the day (seriously, thread created 6/18/2012), but my interest is still there.

I just need $$$ to give support now...

Like Mqark well said, there are several of us who are seriously interested upon your project, should you have a working prototype, then you'll see how fascinated many people are!

i want one. i also want the PSIO and the device for playing 3do games from IDE storage. these types of products saving laser life of old optical drive systems are a godsend. anyone with a dreamcast, ps1 (old model), and/or 3do (fz-10 model) which are in good condition apart from failing lasers are going to have new life breathed into their classic consoles :)

IF I had a choice I'd go with the design that attaches a IDE cable in line with the GD-ROM so both can be used. It would allow for better rips of games to the HDD or whatever storage medium used. Only problem is that design would need a completely redesigned BIOS to make the IDE sys calls work properly. But in this day and age of everyone doing the Dreamcast BIOS chip replacement it would be easy to implement the new BIOS in. If only modding the Dreamcast was as easy as my Xbox...

umm yes he did just ask for donations and ppl mentioning investing when you invest in something you expect results
or to get something out of it

and also they have been sending workers to do maintenance and cleanup for years
there is even a lifetime limit for how long you can work on the cleanup
it wouldn't kill him just make his life shorter and more cancer ridden but with no other money in FORMER USSR

I've donated to PSIO, and I'd donate to this as well. Are you planning on setting a site up for it similar to PSIO? or what's the plan?

i just interesting to see reaction of those guys who were seeking "some one who can make it" and they were offering to support him with "tons of $$$"

no, i got funds for making a prototype. it's stupidly make such device with only hopes on donations. especially when people think "make donation" = "pay for get something"

    I understand cybdyn frustration.

If you look back in the first pages of this thread people were offering donations exepcting nothing.

As I said I'll repeat I can donate for the project not expecting any kind of return.

chernobyl is caused of mutants - "wolf with wings" ))), no wonder, cause "radioactive" pieces were brought by winds to all over the world after such disaster. victims can be met everywhere)))

i plan make this emu, show how it works and make site then, for example DC-IO.

donation - is just a sign for me like "Thanks man, you are doing right thing" , and when i'll face with situation of ordering parts or pcb - i'll recall those good guys... not about who doubt or person like "wolf"...

i make this device - because i have my own wish to complete it. so still make it independently of any points view.

That sounds to be the better way to go. IDE is slowly dyeing out. SATA is still here but will be on death row in the next few years but should still have support for years to come.

who knows, if the cost of SDXC cards will be low so it's enough to use it.

SATA to SD adapters abound so that will be easy to use too. If we could find those obscure SD RAID SSD devices that could have some merit. Only issue is most only have 6 slots and are limited to SDHC so 32GB cards are the max size for them. If only that 8 slot one I found some time back was still available with SDXC support I'd go that route. 256GB X 8 = 2TB. That'd be plenty of speedy storage for me.

Ditto to all the previous posters regarding a working prototype - -

    - - if one gets developed and can start booting DC programs, I'm in financially!

This fellow has a working prototype, as we all know - - http://dknute.livejournal.com/41548.html - - Sure do wish he would open up funding for his project!
