I think I am going to try to hot glue mine when I get it. I saw game-tech-us do it in one of his videos. he cut a glue stick to prop between 2 boards and then use hot glue to attach the stick to each side. Not sure how well it wil stick to the metal plate though, but hopefully it will.

It's perfectly secure. The board is connected to the GD-ROM plug and you have padding to support the other side of the board. It's sturdy and I never felt like it was fragile.

For pressing the button, sure. But have you tried swapping SD cards?

cdi works, but i dislike this format, it uses bad aligment w/ sd sectors (same for hdd) , i converted it to ISO.
actually, i just was interesting why it doesnt work as it's no something special.

cd audio support is complex - not from hardware part.
for cdda sectors i need keep all data as ISO format cut useful data from sectors))
so i need decide what files to use. maybe gdi "as-is": set of track's.
or make two files w/ data for game (2048 per sector), and cdda(2352).

IIUC what bothers you with CDI and audio is the 2352 bytes/sector?

Does DCIO currently supports untouched GDI images or GDI with 2352 bytes/sector data tracks?

    [EDIT]

BTW I'd really like DCIO to see the light of day, with full-gdi and audio support, and a menu to select games; even if it'd cost 150$. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

    Cheers and good luck!

    Yes.
I tested many games and as such, swapped the SD cards many times. No problem here. And you still can add more padding if needed.

    Hello,

    I have couple of questions.

    1. Will I need a bios mod if I were to wait for the DCIO/GD-Emulation method?

    2. Will Gameshark CDX work with DCIO/GD-Emulation method?

    Thanks.

I got mine today and did notice that it was a little loose with just the gdrom plug holding it in place, like you said. I decided to go ahead and try to secure it with 3 hot glue pillars. It is now solidly installed.

I know its doesn't look that pretty, but it works great. You cant see the glue with the cover on.

Very good. If there's one thing I don't want to bust, it'd be the GDROM connector! Hopefully we can come up with something a little more elegant than hot glue, but it's certainly a start!

You could try to replace the bottom felt piece with double sided tape (won't be as strong as the hot glue probably). Other than that, I don't really think there is going to be an elegant way to make it more rigid than gluing it. Doesn't seem like screwing it down would be possible.

The problem with glueing it is that you won't be able to easily swap in the gdrom assembly later if you want.

I won't need to, but others may. I have a few dreamcasts and don't plan on removing this from this one. The glue comes off fairly easily with isopropyl alcohol though if you wanted to remove it.
