He has plans of adding cdi support and disc swap.

Last time I talked to him, it seems like he's spending all of his time assembling usb boards. Once he gets orders under control, I think we will see these features shortly after.

Here is my list of all PAL games that are TV only, VGA Native & VGA Patchable. (tooks a while)
    http://pastebin.com/RiBQf4Gg

Here is a list of US exclusives & what are tv only. natvie & patchable.
    http://pastebin.com/LVrQebC1

To patch the GDImage, Edit Track1.bin/iso & change eg, 0799800 to 0799810 (all your doing is change a byte from 0 to 1) & do the same for Track3.bin/iso (the 0799800 value differs from game to game but its at the top of the file & easy to spot)

SO my Saga with MNEMO and getting him paid Continues.....

First the good news.. He is paid and my boards are on the way to me (Dreamcast and FZ-1 3do Board)

SO I posted that they would not let him have the cash with the maternal name i used.
I had to call WU which was easy and get it changed - He gave me a maternal name and it worked fine.
He did not understand that I changed it so quick, so when I messaged him and "did you get the cash yet" He said - "did you change the name already?" I said "yes I told you that yesterday when you messages me and said they wouldn't pay you"

So language barrier aside - he said he would run back to the bank and try to pick up again.

So he gets home and says.. I was able to get paid but you did not send USD.

I was like - yes I did. You said it was $388 and I gave them $388 USD in cash at the location.

ANd he said yes, but you have to specify to send USD to me, not KZD dollars (or whatever his currency is).

I said. I told them - the seller wants $388 USD - please send him USD and they changed it to his currency anyways.

SO get this - when converted to KZD and then back to USD he got $379 not $388.

I was like - really??????? Is this guy going to give me a hassle over $9 bucks....

He didn't he shipped my boards anyways, but I got this lecture about not sending the money the right way.

SO I lectured him right back about getting his paypal set up again so people don't have these issues.

Since WU is a great way to get scammed, and I was willing to use it. I did also offer him a PAYPAL PERSONAL PAYMENT (or Gift payment).
He wanted nothing to do with it. When I first contacted him many days ago.

So now that he was paid I broguht up that I was still willing to use a PERSONAL PAYMENT ON PAYPAL.

He writes back (language barrier) Paypal takes 5% of the sale. I said .. I would have gladly sent you $388 + 5% or $388 personal payment.

He writes back, You mena gift payment? :) (with a simley like - he was just understanding now)

    I said yes - a gift payment.

he writes back - many people are not willing to send a gift payment becuase of no protection.

I said.. I was and many others were willing to send you a Western Union (also no protection) so what is the difference.
At least with paypal I could have had you paid in 10 seconds days ago and not wasted 3-4 hours of my life over 3 days trying to get you a western union payment.
Next time you better accept a paypal because I am never using WU again and weather I pay you with a regular payment and cover the Fee on top oof it or send you a personal payment
I better be able to do so. Because I went through hell trying to make a payment this time.

So anyways - my boards are on the way. I grabbed a Dead GDROM V1 Dreamcast for $9 + $5 shipping since the DC I used for the DEUNAN GDEMU I sold with the GDEMU in it.
    So not a bad deal.

I also grabbed a Japanese 3do for the FZ-1 card I bought.. Got a great deal $60 bux from japan. Perfectly working.

^ strange... I did mention to him that I want to send him a gift payment but he said paypal does not work in his country... I think the language barrier is too big

Well from what I have read or implied from reading some post's is he did at one time accept paypal.
Also knowing of the fee they take and him admitting to it, means he is just trying to get the most he can.

What I don't get is this..

Let's say his price is 130 euro + XX euro to ship to destination A.
If he is worried about a fee, why does he not tell people the price is 140 euro + XX euro to ship?
Why does he just not build in the fee to his price. he is the only one making this and selling this - no one is going to debate him.
If he wants to sell a bunch and he is worried about what paypal takes from the transaction just build it into the price.
It's not like we can go else where to get it.

Seems to me that the problem with these boards is that the makers aren't so keen to actually sell them.

Denuan seems to have done it just to prove it could be done, meanwhile this guy clearly isn't easy to pay.

Let's hope Cybdyn comes through and makes life easier for everyone - I'm still waiting for his board to be honest.

Sent Deunan a mail, telling that I wanted one GD-EMU, where I lived and that I was paying Paypal gift, he answered with his Paypal e-mail, and I paid and I got my GD-EMU a few days later.

    What's not easy?

Cheers for the list, I thought there was more than that!

I did manage to get it to crash three times so far.

Once on Dave Mirra PAL, while watching the credits pressing start caused the system to freeze on a black screen, the second time was on Vampire Chronicle, after the first set of text the screen freezes also on a black screen and the third time was on Virtua Fighter 3tb PAL, after finishing the game with Akira, trying to view his ending movie in the theatre mode caused the system to go back to the bios menu.

However, I do remember having issues with the PAL version Virtua Fighter 3tb using the actual disc so can't be sure if its an issue with the GDEMU or not

There were but they were foreign ie, (DE,FE,IT). So there was only 216 left after removing dups (White labels) & foreign ones.

Then I had a load that were never tested, so had to test them & then patch the ones that refused to work with VGA & most worked after patching. A few worked, but then I got a black screen but the game was still working (HDD Led) so I put them in the TV only section, since there only half working.

You got a list of country exclusives or know where a list is?

oh also some NTSC games don't support VGA at all or require patching :-(

I haven't had black screens, just the reset to the dashboard (bios menu) with a few games, though I haven't played a lot yet, been testing stuff :-/

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also to the other folk, MNEMO does/did take Paypal, but he won't get the cash straight away, since Paypal have to clear it transfer it & then that takes 3 days for his bank to clear it. I also payed 165€ for mine (£130+) I covered the 5% as I suggested it to him, as I refused to use anything else, (including Paypal gift, no protection) if it were a scam I'm covered via Paypal & if not everyone is happy.

he really should be using Paypal, it's the safest for all parties, but I understand why he's wanting the cash upfront. (Means we don't scam him)

SO what are some of the best MODIFICATIONS for a dreamcast?

I am going to do the R422 Pal mod - seems super easy.

Whats the best bet for Bios? Is there a simple chip I can buy?
Mod I can do - I really don't want to replace the WHOLE BIOS.
perhaps a way to flash the bios?
Is there any additional output mods? LIKE RGB or something? I have a VGA BOX But I understand not everything will work with VGA.. there something else?

NTSC (PAL 60hz) R422 Mod, the Region change mod, the led change mod & replacing the battery are the easiest to do.

The 4 wire mod chips is also easy, but getting one is harder.

Here is my Led change & region change mod. (I have a fan header so I can bridge the pins if I want to change the region. (cheap mans switch lol)
I also have a small fan running at 5v blowing air onto the power supply. (because I'm now using the USB-GDROM Controller)

Here is a pic of the region mod, you can see the new LED to & there is also a new rechargeable battery.

Best mod you can do on a DC is to add a modded BIOS (region free and MIL-CD back when it was removed), a VGA output with integrated scanlines and a GD-EMU (or something similar).
    Everything else isn't needed.

You don't need to mod the BIOs to use the GDemu - use madsheeps GDEMU_SD program and you can convert ANY GDI image to be region free.

This is how I play Skies of Arcadia (NTSC U for VGA) on my PAL Dreamcast using Deunans GDemu board.

Just a heads up, got a new firmware today (not allowed to distribute it) fixes all crashing issues with the games I had issues with :D so its now 100% compatible with all GDI's now.

Thats great news! Could you please test Solder of Fortune and Half-Life to see how much faster they load? HL should normally take 15 seconds per level. SOF takes up to 2 mins in many cases, and I hate waiting that long for a game to load.
