Cheers. I wanted it darker but considering it was taken on a bright day it's not too bad. I don't like going down to the sea at night. Freaks me out a little.

DCharlie, who is that a picture of? Someone from TV?

I had to take a dump in this place the other day. Creepy as hell and yes, it was dark!

Just some random girl - i was trying to capture the frenzy that used to occur on the mainstreet of Akihabara when it was closed on weekends. I have quite a few in that tone

(seems the other pics didn't show up - i think i need to fix my Flickr settings doh)

Opened this thread to be greeted with Yakumo's photos, WTF man!

Decided to get in on the Japan photos action with a few of the green neighborhoods around Hasuda:

Thanks. Yep, that is my son. The Street Fighter picture was taken in the game museum. It had some classic arcade cabs including a mint original Space Invaders and a set of 5 1970's arcade games.

Long story. In short, my career is better off if I leave, and my son was better off by leaving. In a nutshell, I unfortunately had no more use of Japan, except for partying really hard. That's fun, but it's not a reason to stay. Maybe one day it will rebound and I can go back and live, but I seriously don't see that happening until at least my kid is in college, and even that's unlikely.

It seems like now's a good a time as any to say that I have just left Japan myself. I had an amazing time there, and would recommend at least visiting once in one's lifetime. I hope that you all enjoyed my photos taken around Japan (I have many more yet unshared -some more on flickr- which I might add to the thread at a later date), and that some of you may follow my photography as I explore the rest of the world with my new take on life.

I'll leave you with some of my final images taken in Japan.

I'll drop by from time to time to see how the rest of you are getting on, and see what crazy shit Yakumo is up to :)

I hope you enjoyed the ride—I certainly did.
    Cheerio,
    Martin

What? You're leaving too, Martin? man, now I feel lonely. Not that I ever met either of you but for some reason it feels odd.

Of course, now both of you will have to produce weekly doses of high-quality pictures from Japan to make up the balance ;*)
Best of luck to everyone leaving and coming!

A question, to get an Permanent Residence Permit there it takes 10 years of work right?

IIRC an teacher told to us once that these countries were so good to live that some people ended up in suicide.

Not sure why, but I think that life is so "Easy and Boring" there that they ended killing themselves.
