That's bollocks. People openly cough onto each other here all the time.

    EDIT: What GP said.

Actually on TV two days ago a well respected doctor actually said that the masks were of not much use! About bloody time someone said that.

And yes, Japanese seem to have no issues sneezing or coughing without covering their mouths. Then again so do low class western people too.

    :concern:
do they? what ALL of them?
sorry, not the case where i live (and it's as low class as one could get) can't even stand close enough together, let alone make eye-contact...or A&E is the order of the day, which is a low class folly for the FEW bad eggs!
    ...
dunno about the rest of the world, but the above looks like self-elevation, and from where i'm stood, the 'upper-classes' do FAR worse, being a copper is a start!
    ....
if what GaijinPunch said is ANY indication, the 'afluent' are just as GUILTY, if not worse, they think they're better than 'lower classes' therefore act in disregard to ANYBODY who isn't a BLUE-BLOOD/one of them!
    ...
sorry, just had to get that out, it's a bit much when some others pick up the tab for a wealthy few. (most of us)

    He wasn't Japanese then.

The salaryman is not amongst the afluent. In fact, salaryman redefines middle class, where some 80+% of Japan's population lies.

he was a Japanese doctor. Maybe I should have said "respected amongst Japanese :)"

As for the low class thing I was talking about scum. Those shits who never get a job because they're too lazy. Those who go around vandalising stuff because they want to. Those are the low classes I'm talking about. I, myself was brought up in Liverpool during the late 70's and 80's. It was one of the poorest cities in the UK back then. So I'm sure not from a high class background but I'm certainly not some scummy shit like the ones I had to put up with as a kid.

    @ GaijinPunch.
fair enough, appreciate the clarity. (still, a tier system plagues our world. as long as some are perceived to be better than the less fortunate, it remains a problem. there's NO middle class where i'm at, just aggressive folks fighting for scraps of a chance at a crap job. cleaning toilets is something and that's hard to get, says a lot. luckily, not at rock-bottom...yet! there's a british saying that filters down among the divides: it's easier to kick down than bite the heel.)
    ...
    @ Yakumo.
understood, i took it at face value for a blanket statement.
i know of liverpool, got some contacts there, i KNOW how bad it is in some places, so i avoid and ask for help from trusted to transport me where i need to be. (tbh, it's not much better where i live in the NW, got to be careful who i look at, let alone talk to. ANYBODY who comes into a bit of cash/gets a break, lauds it over the rest. you've seen the harry enfield sketches no doubt 'loadsa money'...80's greed/micheal douglas attitudes for the downtrodden)
agreed that some just should be STAKED to the ground for the crows to eat their eyeballs out for mindless destruction to property that's not theirs, but it's more than just being 'jobless' that's a cause.
you should see when the local 'constabulary' do to peoples property (if not steal it) if one disagrees with the status-quo.
(look for the british made show 'COPS'. a VERY accurate portrayal of the UK police forces. stopped airing it because the 'mEaT squaddies' were bitching about the hostility/lack of trust from the public, the show is in the same vein as that rubbish known as 'shameless'..which is also VERY accurate...and still aired afaik ...don't watch it, see enough of the type just leaving house to do chores)
anyway, understand where you're coming from now, what you describe isn't 'low class' but something else!
(and i've NEVER met anybody in higher circles even remotely friendly to anybody not on 'their' level...maybe david icke has a point, about the human condition/the R complex. not talking about LIZARD QUEENS but the behaviour isn't that far off...)

I recently bought the Sony Xperia ZL2 (the replacement for the Z1) which is said to have the best mobile phone camera at 20.3Mpixel. How true that is I don't know but it's sure impressive.

Here are some random shots taken with it. All are direct from the phone with no filtering or anything added.

The origional shots are 3840x2160 which you can download via flickr by clicking on each picture.

The funny thing is that I don't think they even sell Nokia or HTC here in Japan :(

Cant blame them on the Nokias, Windows Phone isn't exactly number 1 in the eyes of consumers, despite me loving it.

They sell HTC phones (mostly on AU), but not Nokia Windows Phones currently. I have a euro-unlocked Lumia 920 which is fun.

I bought my phone from AU but couldn't see an HTC at all. They had Samsung, LG and other stuff but no HTC. Maybe they are on trial sale up in Tokyo?

Haha, except for the Asian people and karaoke bar it looks exactly like Europe. Where's the traditional buildings and gardens? :D

Yeah, it's good to distinguish the two. I'm from the lowest of low class areas in England and there's definitely a whole rats nest of scum in amongst it but go to the more privileged areas of England and, lo and behold, there's scum there too - usually a different class of scum, but scum regardless. In short - scum crosses classes , your socioeconomic background only has a partial bearing on how much of a scumbag you are.

Aaaaaanyways - everytime i visit this thread i'm inspired to go out and do some snapping that's not of the kids/family - will upload some results :D
