I went to Niseko, the Australian colony in Hokkaido). The first night and two following days were the best conditions ever. The last two were the worst ever. Most lifts shut due to wind... most snow gone due to wind... lots of ice, and shit like that. Was w/ a few mates, so it was still fun. Pushed each other over, acted like jackasses, etc. I will say this though... we ducked about a 100 ropes, and never got caught. If you do that on honshu their spider sense goes off and they eject your ass.

Yeah, but that's not my setup. A friend of mine is an agent, and I followed him to Osaka for the gig on New Years. It was also heaps of fun.

I took a drive in to the countryside mountain area of Yamaguchi today. Here's a few shots I took along the way.

All of the area shots were taken while driving so please excuse the odd angles. Most look good apart from the front looking ones. Seems the camera's "motion" mode can only cope with side shots.

Some lonely people must live out here. I sure as hell woudln't want to.

    [IMG] [IMG]

This tunnle is aprently haunted. Probably with people crashing in it. There's only enough room for 1 car yet it's a two way road.

Ah, the only picture taken whlist not driving.

And finally my son sitting in the back trying to escape from his seat belt.

We all know that the Japanese are pathetic at driving but did you also know that they are pathetic at EVERYTHING to do with using a car? Japanese will park in the most dumb ass places causing nothing but inconvenience. just look where the dick head below has parked! Right on the corner overlapping the main road. The F*ing wanker!

Great pics Yakumo. That tunnel is scary as hell! No way i would drive there.

And hey, your son is getting bigger. Are you teaching him how to be a true gamer? =]

As fot the parking, believe me, it's pratically the same around here. Some people lack common sense.

So true on the shit parking here..It's equally terrible in Sendai, too.

While biking to class today(before the bike broke down), I literally had to bike in the middle of the road, as the sidewalk was completely blocked off by some bitch.

It's especially annoying when you're biking down these narrow streets in areas away from the city, and some 宅急便 truck is parked in the road and cars from behind him are trying to pass, but at the same time cars on the opposite side are also trying to pass.

Yeah, he's getting big now. He has his very own Thomas the Tank Engine TV Plug'n Play game that he loves. He also loves playing Forza 3 or Sega Rally Revo on the 360 or should I say he loves pressing "The blue button" accel and shouting CRASH CRASH CRASH! hmmmmmm.

The ironic thing is if you hit someone, you're TOTALLY fucked here. I still get run off the road all the time. The flip side was living in Hawaii... where you're almost hit every day but b/c people have their heads up their asses...not b/c they're piss poor drivers.

in my home country, if you park like this, you can say bye to your license for quite some time.

Tell me about it. A month or so ago I was driving a very slow 20kmph down a street when this girl ran out from between two parked vans. There was no way in hell I could have known she was there. Luckily I slammed on the breaks just in time. had she ran out only a second later she'd have been knocked down.

Now I wasn't speeding, the road's limit was 40kmph, I was doing 20kmph. I was paying attention and driving safely yet if I had knocked her down it would be my fault even though she was the dumb ass who ran in front of me without a care in the world.

Sometimes the law in this country is beyond fucked up.

That's what I mean. The Japnaese are pathetic at using a car (they make great cars though) yet poor sods like my always get caught because we drive fast but in full control on the motor way while dipshits drive like blindmen pissed out of their head on sake and get away with it. Like I said, this place just makes no sense most of the time.

cats and babies do the same, since they can't differentiate between objects which are static or are moving, when they approach frontally. so the first thing they do is starring at it.

I always thought it was a Tokyo thing. I've almost plowed into a few foreigners as well.

My other nitpick of city life you guys w/ cars probably can't appreciate so much is being 188cm tall on a rainy day. I've almost lost an eye a few times from those umbrella pokers.
