I've been to Ikebukuro about 3-4 times in my life. In my daily grind I rarely leave the circle that goes from Shinjuku where I work out and sometimes socialize/shop, to Shibuya where I live, and around to Roppongi where I work. Why would I? Isn't that what most people do?

I go to new places from time to time but they are usually with some type of goal in mind. IE: take the train to the zoo, go into the zoo. I don't go car gazing.

Still enjoying your free Saturn, right? :)

This is one of the reasons why the Japanese have one of the most modern societies in the world, they drop the old stuff and adopt the new stuff much faster than most other countries. On the other hand that is a disaster for the environment, it costs a lot of energy and resources to produce the new stuff in such short intervals. The longer you use stuff, the better for the environment.

There are companies that ship that stuff off to developing nations.

That's not necessarily true. For example, driving a really old car or using old technology/methods can be very bad for the enviroment. I do agree that they probably throw alot of stuff away just because it is old in which case the newer stuff is most likely not that much better.

Factor in how much energy and resources are needed to produce a new car, really, even if it is an old gas guzzler it is still better for the environment if it runs a few years longer than to produce more and more new cars.

A few photos from my latest trip to Japan. The quality on these is pretty shocking, as I uploaded them to Facebook then downloaded them from there and uploaded them again to Photobucket.

Seeing that Nara picture brought back memories. I went there in 1997. Man, that was a very long time ago

For Gaijinpunch, a Garage selling lots of Minis including Mini Coopers, Mini Clubmans even a Mini Countryman hidden away. I counted at least 18 BMC / Morris / Austin / Rover Minis

Although I only had my phone with me here are some cars covered in Anime / Manga characters that were in a Carpark when I was cycling into the hear of Gunma...

Old Nissan Skyline :D and nest to it a Toyota Trueno AE86 :) Much nicer then some of the Yellow plated cars covered in pictures...

Sadly I did not have a great deal of space on my camera. There was a Ferrari 599 that also had some risque pictures on it but I ran out of space and couldn't delete the pictures I had on the phone. :(

Where's that dealership? Doesn't look like Tokyo. Don't doubt there around, just never see them. Note that about 10-20% of the cars I see are cabs.

    Back on topic...
Here's some photos from Yakumo's last trip to Tokyo.

@Jamtex, we see a few of those anime painted cars down here as well. Cool but very sad at the same time

I assumed it was from the get-go, but the hands confirmed it.

Why would anyone ruin a wonderful old Nissan Skyline by painting some dull anime crap on it?
