I was up for over 38 hours the other day, just could not sleep for some reason.Man it sucks when you cant sleep sometimes.
after 24 hours whatever I do (redbull doesn't help) I just go KO no stopping it.. I never understood people that can't sleep as I can sleep anytime anywhere people in long flights always envy me!
Did a few Friday lunchtimes until late Monday nights/Tuesday am when at uni...usually with the assistance of a large quantity of LSD. Seeing air rules let me tell you!
Probably about 36hrs or so, i`ve had like 9hrs sleep over like four nights before but that doesnt count. after about 24hrs my stomach starts acting up. I`ve had trouble sleeping since i was a child, I find my mind races too much and i`m bombarded with imagery, i can usually manage to sleep when its light.
around 36 hours give or take a couple each way.. done it a few times when i was younger. but the last timei did it (about 6 months ago) i felt really sick after i had slept for some reason?
Just get a few glasses of beer. Not too much or youll have a hangover the next day. I had the same problem from working too much and for too much time in a row, wasnt able to sleep at all.
I did speed about 3 times up through college (that's all I needed) I stayed up close to 2 days once. Fucking hated it... took me about a year to forget, which is why I did it more than once. It finally stuck the 3rd time. Voodoo shit. When I first moved to Japan I stayed up 36 hours pretty much every weekend for the first year. Oh, to be young again.
52 hours with my Amiga in 1992. What a nice name for a computer too... Scott Adams comes to mind: "Engineers will go without food or hygiene for days to solve a problem. (Other times just because they forgot.) And when they succeed in solving the problem they will experience an ego rush that is better than sex - and I'm including the kind of sex where other people are involved. Not only is it better at the moment, but it lasts longer." LOL ;-)
5 days and something hours. The results of skipping uni for weeks on end and hitting a depressed low. With no regular activity I was burning no energy and so found it hard to sleep. When my flat mates all retired I watch other people's dvds to kill the time. Eventually a bus journey 6 hours north took my awake state away from me. Happy days.
Yeah, thanks to having children the "who can stay awake the longest" competition really must be broken by one of us Dads (or Mums if there are any on here). Off the top of my head it must be approximately 72hrs. This was a point when my youngest was ill and kept my wife and I awake constantly and I lost total knowledge & sense of time. We were supposed to have taken turns sleeping, but in all honesty - you don't! The worst weekend of my life though and that's a fact.
