Dumbest thing I did on no sleep: Went from Shizuoka (Train)->Tokyo->Dallas. It's a good 3 hours to get to Narita from Shizuoka, and then a good 2 hours until the plane takes off. Then 12 more until you land. Took two megatonin on the flight and couldn't sleep a wink. Got to Dallas and couldn't get a flight to Austin so rented a car and drove 3 hours. Dozed off and got on the shoulder ever few miles. Sucked so bad.
I drove 16 hours straight to south carolina. Worst idea ever. I was following a tornado too, never seen one until then. It scoured the pavement off the road like it was just icing on a cake. There I was doing 90mph in a crappy van with shitty brakes. Why? Some stupid anime convention. To be young and stupid...
It took you 16 hours to reach SC going 90? Take some different roads lol. It took me and my father (all him driving) 19 hours to get to Florida, around halfway into the state too, and Im further away then you Assembler.
The longest for me is about 40 hours. My sleeping pattern really sucks It cycles slowly over a period where I will fall asleep later and later over a six week period or so. Out of that I get about two weeks of what would be considered a normal schedule and the rest of the time I'm up all night or most of the night and morning. I can usually do a quick fix with sleeping pills if I have to but they don't work for long.
On the occasions I've had sleeping pills, they did everything but make me fall asleep. Watching my monitor melt was pretty cool, though.
I know that one about the same for me. I was driving cross country in a moving van with a company I just bought. Did not want to stop in fear of cost of equipment in truck so I kept drinking red bull to stay awake. After that never wanted red bull again. to tis day the thought of it makes me sick.
Hmmm, and I suspect you'd be dead or close to it if you somehow managed to remain asleep beyond 3 days although I did see a bit about a guy in Poland who woke up from a coma after 17 years!
The longest time for me is about 36 hours. I was away from home (like 6km) and I walked back in a zombie-like state. I almost got hit by a car. Didn't really like the experience...
My guess is you probably learn about the state of mind and how it is effected by staying up, and therefore in learning that, you are also provided with information on how the body does not die off staying up for a week? I've read that the man who stayed up for X amount of days, where X is, of course, several, had some permanent effects such as constantly being mad at everyone. I remember it also said his family said he was never the same again. IIRC, this was the man in Guiness...not sure how many days it was though.
Well I figured it was common sense that psychology has to do with the mind, and how its effected. Basically, its proven that you can stay awake past a week and be fine.
