Its because he captured it on his video card. Hence the first file he had was 3.2gigs.

the presentation did run on m2 hardware in real 3d then was recorded via vcr or videocam and then years later loaded to his computer

there the video in plain 2d was 3.3gigabyte when compressed to divx wmv or whatever it was just the 50or 100mb you downloaded

Just to be clear about the video :
This is a video of a demo of D2 for M2 BUT :
    - it was taken from a 3do demo disc (not a 3do m2 cd) so this video runs on a regular 3do
    - it was captured from my video card (PCTV) so the result was a 3.3 Gb video uncompressed, then I compressed it with the Divx 5 codec (& mp3s)

Sorry if some of you misunderstood where I got it.

What cd was this though? Seems weird that the video was released for the 3DO. Was it still selling when the game was announced?

Not really Paulo because I have some Saturn CDs with Dreamcast stuff on them even though Sega were still pushing the Saturn at the time. One even shows the famous Dreamcast tech demo and another showed an early D2 (Dreamcast version) running. This was well before the DC was even released.

Hey Zappenduster did you see how much that M2 dev kit went for on ebay the other day? I totally forgot about it. I was thinking about bidding on it.

    Thanks very much everyone!

I've been on the lookout for an M2 for my collection for a few years now, I love the thing! I remember seeing some of these tech demos looooooong ago, but slowly everyone forgot and it left like a whisper. It brings a big smile to my face to see D2 and that enigma of a racing game again over half a decade later!

Please stop posting random pictures in topics that have nothing to do with them.

Im sure the pictures will fit right in to topics where they are talking about x360 dev and PS2 dev.

    Thanks
