p.s I was unable to open the RAS File

 

You have to download the windows Vista/7 sound patch, the .rar contains the RASMaker.exe, paste in the game folder, and open cmd, and then go to the game folder location and type Rasmaker.exe.

 

I tried it didn't work for me

 

Try this instead
CD Steam\steamapps\common\Max^ Payne\RASMAKER.EXE

 

Curse you RASMaker.exe

 

Open the folder in explorer and select file>open new command prompt.

 

Didn't work again. If you want you can do a video about it. :/

Then type RASMaker.exe into the prompt and press enter.

Damn could not open file.

 

So I figured out how to open .Ras file
1. Find your root folder of Max Payne(where you have the game installed)
2. Top left corner and open up the Command Prompt
3. where the game is Example: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne>RASMaker.exe
4. After >RASMaker.exe -x x_data.ras C:\temp
Then the file will be extracted to C:\temp

If my memory serves me well Remedy did want to release the beta at one point but can't because Rockstar owns the Max Payne franchise

 

an old build wouldn't do any kind of harm to them, so why not?

 

Because they dont have the rights to do it.

 

I guess... Well we need a leak then. I hope it happens anyways.

 

There was a guy on /v/ on 4chan who said if Gearbox doesn't release the Duke Nukem Forever Betas that he was release them by the end of this year. He has provided never before seen screenshots (Also for Max Payne too) but who knows. A Max Payne leak may happen I think the new 3D Realms guy have contacted Rockstar about it. You can only hope.

 

A beta release of max payne for dreamcast will be really awesome even if it's the same stage of development like agartha.
