I already managed to play games from the ethernet with OPL and make it boot ESR patched games. So if you're OK with that you can already play backups on the PSX (any region games will load with those 2 methods). You only need a memory card with FMCB 1.93 installed and a standard PS2, then do what sp193 said (patching the KELF file), and then since the normal FMCB interface doesn't work on the PSX, you have to hold start to load FMCB config on the PSX and bind buttons on the controller so that FMCB loads the elf you want it to load at startup. For example I configured it so that if I hold select it boots ESR and if I don't press anything it boots OPL.

Personally I'm just waiting for a way to upload backups to the HDD and then the PSX will become my main PS2 since it looks so cool :)

uLe_wip6 - works! (with support for hard disk). You can browse partitions, etc. New hdl_dump not yet checked (no free time).

You can make it autoboot a fixed ELF instead of set it to use button presses. I suggest that you setup it so it autoboots uLE. That doesn't mean you can't set the buttons for other ELF files still. Just set it up in a way you have to hold a key for it to drop for XMB instead of letting it aways drop to XMB if no button is held down.

Hi guys ,it is possible install FMCB or uLE in autoboot in PSX desr hdd (connect hdd to PC and Hex Editor) ? Or PSBBN 0.32 ? That immediately after the blue screen ,instead of moving on TV and menu.

Nope, HDD is encrypted. Only way to get not encrypted access is use the PSX itself to access it.

    I suggest:

Use uLE to create a partition nammed PP.XXXX-YYYYY (like these game codes you could use for examble PP.BOOT-00001)
Use aKuHak's hdldump to inject partition icons in the said partition you created (through network)
Find aKuHak's uLE wip6 injected in a bootable KELF file (it could be anything, not just uLE) and put inside the partition.

You read tutorials online with the details and links for the required files.

You can only run stuff on a PSX from HDD (like I mentioned) or boot it from MC with FMCB. PSX doesn't boot from HDD MBR like normal PS2, it boots from a 8MB flash memory which is on the mainboard (flash memory contains main files for XMB).

Very bad idea. Don't do that.

It can be written to by software but nobody made program to write that.

Also, it only boot MG encrypted files.

1: ONLY SONY HDD will work. Motherboard has sub-CPU for Digital video recording function, which checks HDD and do not accept normal HDD.
2: FMCB can boot the PSX enough for you start that CD but you still need SONY HDD to be able to install the CD. PSX will NOT work with normal HDD.
3: 40GB HDD for normal PS2 (FROM SONY) might work but because I don't have these disks I never tried.

PSX does detect disc first using writer head. And it only tries to detect CD *IF* it finished booting (you need to boot FMCB or have it boot until XMB for the laser to work)

I have two PSX which would not read disc and both had good PS2 laser. It was the recording laser that was broken.

Do not COPY HDD because EACH PSX has unique encryption keys taken from both PSX board and HDD security (HDD data is bound to PSX and HDD)

Can fit good HDD into 7000. You don't have disc for 7700 have you ? It's V1.31 for 7000 and 2.11 for 7700.

7000 uses KHW-200A laser (sony make)
    7700 uses SANYO SF-DB11

You can backup HDD from 7700 (7700 works, right ?) save image, use it on 7000 to test then return data from image to HDD then put back onto 7700 if you want.

You get black screens because the encrypted ELF file for the PSX is special. It's the XFMCB.XLF file you're supposed to "sign" and use with the PSX ...

Yeah i did that, took the xfmcb.xlf from the fmcb1.93 package and renamed it to xosdmain.elf and used the kelftwinsigner in CMD just like the tutorial but nothing at all.
looking better i could find that after the cmd process I get an xosdmain.elf archive of 1kb of size is that right??

    Nope, that's totally wrong lol.

You have to check what is going on with your CECHZM1 MC adapter.... Is it original ?

Did you read the tutorial properly (http://www.assemblergames.com/forum...-the-PSX-DVR&p=727989&viewfull=1#post727989)? The instructions are far longer than what you've described here. If you think that you've understood and executed the instructions properly, describe what you did.

The resulting xosdmain.elf file will be exactly the same in length as before. The only thing that will change is its contents.

The problem that you have is most likely not related to your memory card adaptor, if you're even using one, as you wrote that your xosdmain.elf file becomes 1KB in size after running the KELFTwinSigner program.

Well, thanks to everyone for the help, after a week of trial and error I could finally make it work, but still a question remains to me, can I update the psx to 2.X with an iso of the updete disk and OPL???
