Needed bump here's the latest -Producer is Yoshinori Ono, who worked on SF Alpha, SF III, and oversaw Capcom Fighting Revolution -Ono wants it to be the "second coming" of SF II. Wants it to feel like "homecoming" for SF II fans. -Online play is planned with potential for microtransactions such as new characters and stages -The look is not really similiar to the teaser trailer. A "cartoon-shaded style that manages to evoke SF II reimagined in 3d" - runs in 60FPS - Gameplay sticking with 2D- Ono wants to "preserve the strategic nature of SF II" -camera doesn't budge - Trying to get "as many SFII characters in as possible" -Renders III to Side Story Status -Controls are traditional- "in its current early state, the game feels remarkably close to Super SFII Turbo" - Game is more aggressive- more about attacking than defending. Many of the SF III and Alpha gameplay systems have been scrapped. - Producer says they haven't decided what platforms or even if there will be an arcade version. Version Shane played was running on a P.C - Ono suggests Capcom could make a PS2 or DS version if "they deem the market suitable" -Ono not enthusiastic about making it an exclusive- wants to get it out on as many platforms as possible
"-Ono wants it to be the "second coming" of SF II. Wants it to feel like "homecoming" for SF II fans." Bleh. I'm tired of freaking SF2. I think i will be passing on this one (I knew the anounced roster made it sound like it wsa just going to be another sf2).
As long as they have a lot of new characters and some returning ones. And it's not all rehash I'm fine.
With the way things look. It will probably consist of 2/3 returning characters and few if no new ones.
Well Dhalsim is back, Ken, Ryu, Chun Li and Ono did say he wants as many SF II Characters in as possible. All I ask is no Bison (since he's finished anyway) Balrog, Blanka, Zangeif and E Honda.
Dhalsim? I can't stand that character! Chun Li I can see making a come back as with Ken and Ryu but Dhalsim??? Yakumo
after seeing the screen shots, i kinda wish the game would be more stylized like the trailer. i think there's a lot of cool possibilities with that sort of art direction.
PLays better as well. I always found Guilty Gear to be far too stiff. Sort of the Teken of 2D if you will. Yakumo
I can never figure out how to do anything in Guilty Gear, but it's a cool looking game at least, and the music and music references are awesome.
I'm a decent GG Player. Most of the staff is made up of EX Capcom and SNK people and Daisuke the creator/producer worked on Last Blade 2 and Garou. But accent core ruined GGXX for me.
I wish they just work on the combo system and not make it impossible to pull of the same moves we know and love from the first games. Oh and stop making Ken weaker every damn game.
