It pisses me off Ryo will get the super power fireball and ken will get the 89 hit dragon punch which has half the effect of a slap from a one finger woman with a broken nail and a bad hair day.
Dimps did the Saint Seya fighting games, and even tough I don't like Saint Seya I had a blast with both games and they did had some casual appeal. Can't wait to see more of SF4
I know ken sets them on fire. Well i guess that is kewl never mind. I wish ken had a fireball like ryu super mega move.
Anyone impressed with the gameplay footage? I had mixed feelings about it but I'm more happy with how its coming along than how I was when I first saw it.
All I can say is that it isnt nearly as awesome as the trailer was... I know I know, intros are always over the top when compared to the actual game, but the thing here is that the quality was almost the same, if not more minimalistic in the trailer (you have this open field with just the characters and grass, while the game footage involves a variety of elements) but the actual movement in the game looks a lot more like the SFII of old (read: stiff) than the fluid movements of the trailer... I'll rather get a darkish-minimalistic SF like the one of the trailer than a mere remake with pretty much the same art direction of the original game.
That is actually how I would have liked it to be instead of going with cel shading. By what I meant when I said first saw it I meant the real in game screen shots because I knew it would never come out as good as the teaser.
I really don't like how the faces look. Ryu has always looked cool to me. Now he looks like an ogre or something. It looks alright, I just want to see one fight exactly as it would look if i were playing. No quick cuts and splashes of black...stuff.
Yeah I know its not nearly done but its just the whole design I don't like. The cel shadings just not street fighter at all.
I'll say the problem is that the character design is too exagerated, like, they tried to make them look more fierce but ended up overdoing it.
I agree. After seeing the gameplay, I wish it was a lot more stylized like the trailer. Something new and completely different. But who knows, I've yet to play the game.
