Hard to say. I've played on pretty much every console as they came out. The latest round doesn't have enough games to put much time into so I'm playing plenty of older stuff. Do computers count? Countless hours of my youth were spent on Apple and Commodore.
Most use of all time? Short answer: SNES. Mario RPG, Final Fantasy III, Earthbound, Yoshi's Island, Top Gear 2... there's more but need I go on? Long answer: I started on the NES, and put ridiculous amount of time into Super Mario Bros 1 2 and 3. The N64 sucked up quite a bit of time, Ocarina of time did a very good job with that, but not as much as the SNES, as I used that console for a longer period of time in my childhood. Now the GBC, I almost have to say got a similar amount of time as the SNES, Pokemon Red and Yellow got a sickening amount of use I just had to explore both those games until there was literally nothing left. I'd say I'd have to say though, I've played SNES way more consistently over the years, so I went that.. Most used Nowadays? I honestly can't answer that. Saturn, maybe? Only because I'm on kind of a Nights kick right now. I dunno, I hop between the 10 consoles I have (not including handhelds), I try to give them all a bit of love. What I can say is I mostly stick to Dreamcast and older.
Wow this is a tough one for me. Most used of all time is probably the Xbox 360. The PS2 is the thing I play the most right now. Had it since I was a little kid and still love it. It's the only thing that I got for Christmas twice. My mom gave it to my cousin shortly after we got the 60GB fat model PS3. About a year ago, my cousin gave it back to me for Christmas and now, I wouldn't give it up for anything ever again.
xbox 360 and now xbox one 360: GF has finished Skyrim and Oblivion about 10 times each ( she likes to play as all the different races and stuff like that) I mainly play on COD, Halo and GTAV online so I have no clue how many hours ha So between us we have put in a few hours on that system Bought an Xbox one the other week: GF finished the whitcher 3 (so how many hours that takes for the main quest + collecting all the gwent cards [still going on that]) Only really played half of Wolfenstein the new order so far.. TLDR; 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 hours on the 360 and like not so much on the xbox one... I wish I played my other systems more but GTAV or COD online is so brainless after a long day haha
I wish I had some idea what console I've played most. I really have a hard time even taking a guess at it. In more recent years it's obviously the Xbox 360 thanks to online play and games like Fallout and Skyrim. But prior to the 360 I'm not really sure. If I were to take a guess I'd have to guess either the SNES or NES. If you added emulated play, it would I think definitely be SNES or NES for me. I'm impressed for anyone here that can very confidently know which system they have played most overall that isn't from the 360 era onward. Just with the amount of time that has passed I can't really get a good sense of how much I played various platforms. My best guess really would be the SNES with the NES a likely second. But I could be wrong.
Hmm, would definitely be the original Xbox if you also count watching videos / fucking around with XBMC. Actual game play, though? Probably the SNES. Maybe the PS1? Like Motzilla, I am having a really tough time determining that. & adding emulation into the mix would definitely bump the SNES higher... I played a lot of multiplayer on the Gamecube, as well. This is a surprisingly tough question. & apparently I have already answered this... This new job has got my brain all twisted.
I can surely say that in 2013 the PC was my most used game platform. I built a new PC that year and then I started playing GTA IV, Skyrim, Euro Truck Simulator 2, CS GO and even started playing Minecraft again. Although mods made me play all of these games for hundreds of hours more.
I would of said the same, but this thread is specifically made for consoles only. Still, I agree with what you're saying. Mods have made those games, especially Minecraft, last that much longer. I wish I could tell you exactly how many hours I've played it.
Right now I think my most played console is the PS4 because of The Witcher 3 but my most played consolle of all time may be the PS2 but I'm not sure.
my ds i played a lot of super Mario 64, Mario kart ds, paper Mario, and Mario and luigi partner in times i played a lot of mario games on the ds when i was little until my ds broke from playing it to much then i got a new one
ps3 solely because GT5 and GT6, I spent over 3000 hrs on those two games, and sadly I couldn't win any of their seasonal competition...
Currently I would have to say the PS4 due to Alien Isolation and CoD. Overall, I would say the PS3 due to so many good classic games. Between Borderlands and Uncharted series.
PS2 Slim with Burnout 3. I've had mine since I was six, and eleven years later, after being sent once or twice to SONY's repair center, it's still kicking ass. Now I use a SCPH-3000x with an internal HDD to run my games, but i still use the Slim occasionally to play multiplayer games with friends. Last time we booted Soul Calibur off USB, and my girlfriend beat up all of our asses This. Not Minecraft here, but Burnout Paradise. We used to mod the crap out of it. It's fun as hell!
Young'uns missed the glorious golden age of gaming. I was finished with high school when PSX came out.
I dunno, I think for cheap gaming it's hard to have beaten the fifth/sixth gens. That was the last time you really saw actually released budget games. That was the end of the era where not every physically released game had to be a super-blockbuster. And you saw people doing DLC right (on consoles), and patches that didn't make up for the fact that the game was released an unplayable mess.
