I hate almost everything made recently -- especially the synthetic personalities that the musicians singing them have. I think Cold Play is about the onlly new CD I've bought in about 5 years, and I don't really care for the genre. I was buying techno & house on vinyl for years, but even that has gone commercial and cheesy.

    bah

BAH! Screw this mass market counter-culture BS. Punk has become a joke with sub-genres such as emo and screamo. Same goes for the metal scene these days. It's all about the cliche teen angst lyrics and boring, repetitive melodies. When will people stop listening to their radio garbage and watching MTV. Buying their crap CD's just gives them more money so they can put out more garbage.

Anyways enough with the rant. Some bands I like these days are In Flames, Edge of Sanity, At The Gates, Soilwork, The Haunted, Theory in Practice, Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquility. The sad thing is many of the above bangs have either gone their seperate ways or have changed their style to the point where it doesn't even resemble their older stuff...

There seems to be an awful lot of Metal fans here and an awful lot of Rap / Hip hop haters too :smt042 I can't stand any of that "Black" generation music. It's all so dull. Same beats, same pointless crap for lyrics and same "I'm a hard arsed Mutha F@cker or Slut babe" image. I recon they should rename MTV to Black TV. That's all they ever play these days and they even have a MTV R&Band Dance channel.

Now, whist I hate rap, hip hop, R&B, that doesn't mean I hate blacks :smt023 The classics are the best. No, not MC Hammer :smt043 But the likes of Billy Ocean or Lynol Ritchie (SP?). That's when a black artist meant a good singer and not someone talking out of their arse :-(

I listen to Therapy? since 1993, when they released their still best album "Troublegum" (I saw them live last year, and the crowd still goes crazy with every song from that album, luckily they play almost every song from it ...)

    agree a 100% !!!

    Done

Unfortunately it has been done (BET Black Entertainment Television). The worse part is that their main audience is predominently white suburban kids going through an identity crisis.

can't agree more with you, it look and sound too stupid to be true, always the same crap that reunite free-violence, girls as objects, base ball bats , cars that jump and/or bmx, sweatshirts and a group of rappers with alot of money and 600 $ 's clothes, mix it with too many confidance\ claims and a bunch of ''fucker'' , ''sucker'' among other words in the lyrics and you got rap that will sell very well . they just look ridiculous , that's stupid.

i hate rap and all those derivences like R&B,....

i hate comercial music where they create a character that is played by the singer or a singer that is created for someone , never heard of enrique iglesias? never heard how bad he really sing? that's a singer created for someone , he have no talents , but he sell because ''he's so beautiful'' .
