Haha not much, maybe a few bucks. Since they are pirates and all, but since they are silvers they are kinda funny if only for a muzeum aspect. If you willing to part with them let me know ;D

I have a small collection of pirated silvers for PlayStation. I posted some photos few months back. Including a photo of DreamCast Quake III silver, which even though a pirate, is still extremly rare, as it was probably the only DC game that got a silver release.

Russians released some crazy stuff. They even sold silvers with porn. These were either homebrew games or just video discs with homebrew *.str player and menu.

I even got a beta version of Gekido. Also silver. The game appears unfinished. Even though you can play through all the levels, it has some debug features and lacks most of the sound tracks.

Silver means that they are actually factory pressed CDs. Unlike CD-R or DVD-R, silvers are, well, silver. Just like any music CD or commercial DVD.

During the years when PlayStation's popularity was at its peak, russian pirate industry made its move and started releasing PlayStation silvers. Later on PlayStation 2 silvers [both CD and DVD]. Usually they stick to music and movie piracy, but the popularity of PlayStation and the fact that nearly every east european PlayStation owner had a mod chip, created the market.

So they started the mass production of silvers. Printed CDs, professionally printed covers and all that. More than often the games would include cracktros and trainers. Usually either Paradox or Kalisto.

At times the games would be patched. For example, Tekken 3 had all the characters and game modes avalable from the get go. They would also release compilations, such as all Crash Bandicoot games on one CD or Tekken 2 + 3 on one CD [animations were then re-linked so that both games would share the same endings]. Crazy stuff, man!

Is this still the case? I have the Series 4 Silver Edition Carlos V. Nemesis, boxed and in near mint condition.
    Wondered if you're interested?
