There's a principle and all that..but did I read right...$8.00. Eight dollars. WTF. Clearly you have too much time on your hands for all this drama.

Clearly I do too for reading this tripe.

As an aside, there are numerous XBox case variants. The real determining factor in this would have been the quality of the seal, both the shrinkwrap and the Xbox strip. Very hard to fake perfectly. Did the serial number on the Xbox strip match with what it should be?

And manuals in new games often have scuffs. Depends on their nature as to whether they are dodgy...pics please?

Plus who on earth would bother to reseal an eight dollar game!?! Store shrinkwrap perhaps, but that would be highly unlikely to have the Xbox strip which you've shown.

    LOL.

(And no, I'm not the seller lol)

Edit - actually I'm sounding overly harsh here, not quite my intention. Being mis-sold anything is bad. It just strikes me that conclusions are being jumped to a little quickly here that's all. (Is the insert legit..I found some very high res scans of it...)

You'd have a lot of time on your hands if you it takes you so god damn long to get money to actually spend! I don't work and I'm constantly trying to get a job, the little money I have I enjoy collecting with that cash when I get the chance, it wasn't ONLY $8 it was $16 all up. Just because it's $8 doesn't mean I shouldn't get annoyed about it. If $8 is so minimal to you, then PayPal $8 for it.

I guess you're dimwitted cause clearly it's a reseal, and a fake case, sold as new *that's* the principle here, not the price of the game... It's more of a disappointment. I didn't get what I paid for, so I'm annoyed. So you wouldn't go back to a store if you bought a new game and the booklet was damaged? Well fine, but that's your actions, so don't judge mine.

The seal was a indeed a fake, the print came right off when I touched it also the XBOX holographic is different compared to the other seals I have... Anyway, regardless the case isn't an original... None of them were like this, all 'variations' I have are at least close to the typical green and don't bend like rubber. To also answer the question to the wrap, it felt generic like softer than a sugar-pop wrapping.

Yes, to respond to your edit the insert to me seems real... I guess the seller bought games in bulk without cases, just like you can get manuals by them self. On the topic of manuals, check the first post you can see the damaged manual!

A scammer will do anything to make a quick buck, did you ever think of that? Someone is doing a dodgy move, maybe it's the seller, MAYBE it's his supplier but I don't give a fuck about who did what. HE is the person that has MY money.

Please, never speak to me like am an idiot, this guy is ripping many people off and taking customers for a ride.

Last of all, if this thread was a waste of time for you by just reading it, then why fucking reply and make me feel like a big baby about it?

That isn't the problem. It's the choice of game. Most people don't care about this particular title enough, to want to hear about anyone's experience related to it.

No body forced you to read this now did they? Stop giving me grief about it fuck sake.
Besides, I'm trying to own as many XBOX games I can possibly afford, I don't like sport titles but I'd have to get them at a later point too.
I asked for HELP, not to be criticized about what game it is, how much it is and bunch of other bullshit.

When asking for help of this type, showing pictures leads to much more valuable information than a tangent.

Which images do you need? In the first post you can see the damage on the manual, poorly printed seal label and the fake case. Anything else?

Man, I'm cranky I probably need sleep... Sorry if I sounded rude to anyone :/

I find it funny that the seller basically thinks that by resealing a game it becomes brand new again. Haha.

    No pb, I deserved it.

If you're that hard up I'll send you $8.

(Tbh I would not be buying games if I was out of work, but that's just me. Hell I'm in a great (as in I love it) albeit moderately well paid job and am not buying games! Times are fucking tough globally though, really sucks, good luck with the hunt, fingers crossed for you!)

    As to why I replied...

No body forced you to read this now did they?

The times I've logged in the last 24 hours there have been discussions about this in the chat box at the very top of the forum..so I'm in a way forced to read about this, or at the very least, the first thing I've seen each time I've popped by, has been comments about this. From reading the chat I assumed it was some badboy sealed rarity..did some digging, and what can I say, I was somewhat surprised, hence my post!

    Edit

Just to address one last point..

I guess you're dimwitted cause clearly it's a reseal, and a fake case, sold as new *that's* the principle here, not the price of the game...

I did not say the price was the principle. Rather I implied that principles aside (ie the principle of not receiving what one has been led to believe one was buying) for $8 I simply wouldn't bother with all the aggro and grief that comes from dealing with idiot sellers on shitbay, paypal disputes etc. Don't get me wrong, I'd be just as wound up as you, but frankly I'd call them a C U Next Tuesday, out them on a forum or two, and say bollocks to it. Not worth my personal effort / anger.

But I understand your views / circumstances and fully respect that! Good luck in the dispute (and if you do have to return the game make sure you chuff in the envelope first, or run your wang over the game lol!).

In all honesty I'd just cut your losses, the best you can expect from PayPal is a partial refund of a few dollars, either that or you pay more shipping money and wait a couple of weeks for, a few dollars. I understand the morality of the situation and you might get somewhere by making a complaint, perhaps this dispute might be the way to do that. But you're really not going to get a lot out of this situation, unless you get a partial refund you'll likely be at a loss anyway by shipping it back to him.

the most likely scenario is that paypal will make you pay for return shipping then force a refund of $16, leaving you $8 out of pocket :/

Excuse my language in the last post, but I was just so annoyed at the seller the way he was having a go at me. So keep the money, you're earning yours.

The game wasn't expensive, it won't really hurt my pocket and plus this is birthday money from my grandparents and other member's of my family -- It only happens once a year :p
I'm only trying to stretch this money as far as I can to build the XBOX collection...

Sure it's not rare, but for an Australian version it is... Just the matter of fact I thought what I was getting was a real deal, hence my disappointment.

I'm purposely giving the seller a hard time, as he made this difficult himself, if he was happy to post other items to me why isn't he happy to just refund the price of the game (which is the same value as postage?) Also that's a little fishy...

PayPal is now taking care of it (got a status email when I woke up)... Of course I'll post the status here if I get my full refund and what not.

If I have to send it back with my own money, I'll just rub it on my dog's anus. lol

Yep, that's what the seller wants me to do but that is just stupid if it was real this never would of happened in the first place. Sure it will mostly be this way anyway.

If you can prove it is a bootleg, they sometimes have you destroy it rather than ship it back. Different since it is technically real, but who knows.

As far as I understand, games distributors only receive the discs from Microsoft, and not the cases, inserts etc. which is why you see a myriad of cases from different companies in a manner of styles.

I have a few original cases which differ from the standard 'Microsoft' design:
    * Most are the traditional Amaray case, with the 'long' rectangular opener
    * Some are Amaray, some are Flexbox with a 'security' square in the case opener.
    * Some are an unmarked case with 'press center to release disc' written on it
    * Some are slightly transparent, lighter in colour (although not as light as yours) and don't have mottled plastic - these tend to be from the smaller distributors

If it's true that the distributor picks the cases, it could easily be the case that, due to Kemco being a very small distributor, they may skimp on case quality, and the company they have got boxing up their games may have been a bit more lax on quality control (hence the scrape on a manual that doesn't appear to have any other wear marks and the print quality on the label being a bit inferior, especially if Microsoft gave them the labels 'unprinted'). Also, as a reprint of the game could easily have overlapped with the Xbox 360's launch, it may have been unintentional that they ended up with a lighter coloured case.

I found a few examples showing sealed copies of Rogue Ops, and whilst one appears to be more transparent than normal, the other seems to be a more traditional case:

    $(KGrHqEOKkUE4fNg-N7lBOSHG9RNDw~~0_3.JPG 0d9b_12.JPG

Equally, I find it rather hard to believe that someone went to all the effort of printing and resealing a game for $8.00, especially as that's pretty much the price of the game unsealed - but maybe that's just me being too much of 'seeing the good in eBay sellers'.

Unless you can find someone else who has a copy or a clearer image of Rogue Ops, it's going to be difficult to know for certain what you have.

Nope didn't get the refund, not even half... Just don't buy from drplaystation05.

The cases sometimes differ in colour and those images I found as well... But this is extremely bright and transparent compared to those. Those cases are the same replacements :/

Anyhow, negative feedback he gets the asshole for being rude anyway.

Those for your information mooseblasterI knew about the different cases they use, this case just feels waaaay to flimsy for ANY company to use. Even phoenixgames used better cases for the PS2. Sucks that I lost the cash, I know it's not much but it's the principle.

All my Xbox 1 cases are the normal green, except my Burger King games (which were dual compatibility with the 360)
