You don't know how much I want shout "THIS IS THE WOW FACTOR" at the swap meet. I agree when I first saw it I found it ridiculess and though now they make a show about anything these days, but I'm not going to lie it has become a guilty pleasure lately and I remember watching the season this episode was in.

What sad though is ever since this show has come out more of these people are showing up at the swap meet taking a majority of the space. Screw even trying to get a deal from them they are firm on price now. As for the $13,000 nes, I think that was the one that came with a couple of boxed games and one of them was the bandai version of stadium events. I had a similar issue at the swap meet where some guy had a black and purple gameboy and the model number was 001 and he said he think it might be worth something, and I explained to him it's just the model number, to which he paused and said oh....

Oddly enough though everyone has been selling nes for $50 firm lately in my area, though I was able to score a top loader nes with a bunch of games and a zapper for $20, though the ad had no pics so I assumed it was a standard nes. Amazing how you can still get a deal on craigslist when the poster doesn't post pics or what model your getting.

He was a good if eccentric guy. Ever wonder where the world's supply of 360 HDMI A/V kits disappeared to? Him. I bought one from his eBay store, sold as new, it arrived with wear and tear, so casually left a neutral feedback. Over the next couple days I receive a couple emails and literally three crazy heartfelt voicemails on my home phone, pleading with me to change the feedback and a rant about how I should have contacted him before leaving a neutral. (Yeah, apparently eBay now reveals numbers to sellers.) Long story short I got two kits for <$5 shipped and was left simultaneously quite amused and feeling kinda bad for him.

It is kind of lame you neutral'd him before banging it out with him through messages but cool that he went the extra mile to sort out the issue.

I think it was lame I didn't get something as advertised and I had no expectations for replacement so a neutral seems an appropriate way to move on with life. Who wants to waste time "banging it out"? I've left numerous neutrals for mediocre transactions over the years and this was the first time a seller cared.

In that time it was also revealed that Storage Wars is almost completely fake.

I got a motherboard that claimed to be new in box but was DOA. I contacted seller, sent dead board back minus the SATA cables it came with, and got full refund. I left neutral feedback on it and haven't heard a word since.

I left a neutral once, the guy flipped out because it was his first NOT positive feedback after thousands and thousands of transactions. It was for a figure that was advertised as Mint on Card - didn't post pictures of the figure on the card, just the figure. When it came the card was TOTALLY trashed.

Any time something hasn't worked out well, before I leave feedback I contact the seller and try to get my money back.

I'll then leave a neutral feedback if I feel i have to escalate it.

Example - replacement controller shell, never came. Seller kept telling me to wait more, I demanded a refund and left a neutral and got it. So I left positive feedback explaining the entire situation.

I rarely leave negative feedback. Most recently I did because I bought a virtual pet and the seller didn't say it was a knock off. He replied trying to dispute it saying it "a UK version", no fuckface - it was a bootleg. The box says Dinkie Dino but the actual toy says "99-in-1 vpet".

I've only left negative feedback 2 other times. I received a 72Pin connector and it didn't work - seller responded saying I should have contacted him and he would have sent another one. Fair enough.

And another I bought a shirt and the seller never responded to anything, and never sent it. I left negative feedback, and the seller had good ratings until then - all his negative feedback auctions ended around the same time frame. Maybe he died or something.

Why are you guys leaving negs/neutrals before contacting the seller? I don't know if you can change it later on but if you cant that is the 100% douchebaggery.

As a seller I've had one deal that I listed an item, but the picture said it was a gold edition which included the original game and expansion and as soon as he sent me the message I apologized, refunded and let him keep the game. A lot of sellers will go out of their way to help you out.

Don't tar us all with the same brush.

the only times I left negative without contact was back in 2002. The one about the action figure, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have done anything about it. He refuted it by saying that just because the auction didn't say the card wasn't damaged he wasn't responsable. The 72pin...I dunno, I was 14 so I just felt more ripped off than anything. I've since given sellers a chance after an auction goes awry.

I think it is very clear why someone would leave a neutral/negative feedback on such transactions with no need to contact the seller beforehand. If you sell an item as "New," and what the buyer received is clearly used/scuffed, we have a clear problem here. Nowhere is anyone painting all eBay sellers with the same brush. As a seller it is more important than anything to describe what you are selling as accurately as possible, so that when real problems like this come up, you can't be blamed for not pointing it out.

Anything I get that is labelled as "new" and it is used, I leave some sort of feedback. If that makes me a douchebag, then all I can say is that seller is a doucebag for not knowing what "new" means & not taking the time to relay accurate information about the goods they are selling for hard earned cash. It is not my obligation to point out to the seller that the item was not as advertised before I leave feedback. The rare times where the seller is actually understanding & decides to send out a replacement, sure, it is a nice gesture, but I would only be getting what I originally was trying to buy after going through more and more hassle.

I always contact sellers before leving non-positive feedback. Most of the time you will get something for your trouble. Everyone can make a mistake, including ebay sellers. This is from their reaction to your complaint that you will truly be able to judge if they are douchbags or not.

I never sold anything via eBay (or our local website MercadoLibre); however I never left non-positive feedback without contacting the seller first... at least not in eBay. I did once leave negative to a ML user as soon as I received the item, but he deserved it: it was a Sony Memory Stick card, 4 GB. He mentioned in the description that it was original. Price was too good to be true, so I asked him before buying, and he said the card was indeed original. As soon as I received it I could easily see it was fake. I still did the corresponding tests to find out, and then left the negative feedback, along with the proof that it was not original.

That's different - I've left negative when I receive a knock off stated to be legit.
