Ive been keeping my eye out for Candy cabs around me for 3 years, Ive seen I think half a dozen, all of which were usually gone or spoken for by the time I saw them.

What's funny is, I say the same thing about the UK, lol.. So many Naomi Universal Cabs.....and their money is worth more, lol.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

If I lived on the east coast...I'd still have a room full of cabs. They're out there. My buddy lives in NJ and has a really nice neo candy, big red, neo gold, and a pin. I use to hunt on craigslist and ebay daily, but ran out of room, lol.

Great collection. I would love to have some similar candy cabs, but I'm just a little worried about power consumption and heat. It's tough when you have to use your Supergun to play stuff that you know would look so much better on the monitor in a cab.

Superguns are cool too. I gamed on a mas supernova for over a year playing Darkstalkers and sf2ce. I just sold that thing a few months back too. Loved the big wood sticks.

check it out if you are interested in grabbing something on the east coast. Not cheap...but cheaper that getting it shipped from the West Coast...

Beautiful collection Eric, I envy your cabinets!

Why did you paint/retrim the SSF2 cab from black to white though? To fit in with your more modern stuff? I don't like that change personally.

lol, it's cool. Everyone likes different stuff. I tried black and I didn't like it with the blue. It wasn't as "stand out" and I wanted it to be. ;-) Black on black is too plain for me. I almost went Orange w/ white, LOL!!!! :033: I need the lone woodie to be noticable. Believe it or not, that cab is usually the first one people want to try.

Man you're killing me with that collection.

I've wanted a cab of my own for several years now.
I got into a bid war at an Atlanta arcade auction over
a Sega Astro City 2 candy cab in perfect condition.
I think I let the guy have it at $250 because I was there
for a *cheap* dynamo Street Fighter 2 style cabinet. Well,
I never got the SF2 style cabinet as they all went over $500,
even in bad condition. Later I realized how perfect a candy
cabinet is for a home/apt. To add insult to injury I also learned
some of them have monitors that already have vga ports, making
it dirt simple to become a mame/emu cab.

Bah, my biggest loss so far.

Thanks guys! Yeah, moving/shipping them is easily the biggest issue with cabs. The room definitely didn't come together over night, lol...

Last sega astro 2 I saw for sale was going for $850...$250 is nuts!
