sadly ive beaten my psp up slightly to the point it useless selling it, but realisticly im more intreasted in buying games for ds, theyre just aint shit on there worth puting $50 down on. And all the games i play on there dont really hold my intrest more then a day, even virtua tennis feels slightly lacking on it. Also be honest unless you got a shitload of money, you cant really take advatage of the special features that much. Emulation right now is at a extremely slow pace.

I love my PSP. You guys must be nuts not to like it. Got everything wifi'd to it. Toca, Virtua tennis, Lumines are all amazing.

You guys just don't like the common stuff.

What good are all those specs when you cripple it with Linux? It needs to be windows. Most stable, very efficient and by far the most well supported OS.

ive seen the OQO, which was pretty similar to what i described but non others,.....ohwell , means ill have to make my own....

how could this max drive/battery thing transfer data between the battery connecters, or does it hook up to the battery port, but a dongle connects it to the usb port?

First off, it would be irony :p. Secondly, it's not.

Windows XP is an amazing OS. I run it in the studio and have never had a problem with it. My home PC is been running 24/7 for atleast 6 months with no probs. And that's with no Firewall, Virus Protection etc.

It's hardly MS's fault if you can't look after your system.

Go use linux, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with all those amazing apps you can get for it. MP3 players, video players... Oh, that seems to be it :-D
There's a reason the world uses Windows, and it's not becuase MS has the best advertising, now is it?

It's very fasionable to hate MS (the 'man') right now, but people should have some appreciation for what makes a good OS.
Of course the most common OS will have the most viruses aimed at it and the most problems found in it, but this is only due to the massive amount of users.

I have to agree with Funkstar De Luxe there. Win XP is run on my PC and ever since it has been I've had no crashing what so ever. My PC is also on 24/7 due to the FTP without a single problem unless I do something stupid.

Windows is good, when it works, which basically means that the user isn't an idiot....That is, until you use Mac OS X. I've only been using it for a couple of days now, but its already replaced my desktop for everything. I'm dreading using a windows PC again now.

No! We've lost one to the Macs! :-(

OSX isn't bad. It's way too processor hungry for my tastes, but generally not bad at all.

It does however need some extra stuff in there. My buddy, a mac diehard, can't use a two button mouse. Not at all.

I got nothing against macs, except their "I'm better than a standard PC" shit and the horrible lifestyle marketing. YUK.

These "I hate/love XP" conversations seem to happen a lot here, and I think it's mostly my fault :-(

Windows eats resources is where it hurts. Mines been running for a year and a half now, but its definatly notably slower then it was even 3 months ago. I dont use a firewall or anything either. But youd be a liar to say that a good distro of Linux is less stable then XP, or its less secure, or its less resource hungry...

Windows is winning the same way that the Playstation is winning, advertising and support

i havent defragged in months i find deleting temp internet files speeds the thing up considerly....though having nearly 100 programs on it slows it back down again,....

a word of warning to all those who wish to purchase a 64bit cpu based computer, i have found that it some of my older games, they fail to work, and other games run considerly slower....

oh and one thing about the 4 gig drive.....i had a look at some memory stick prices and i found them sale for roughly 90-100 for a gig......which is pretty comparable if you were to buy one of these hdd/battery things...

Ryan: I know the thing about the 64bit processors, since one of my friends has the problem with Diablo 2 and the expansion on his pc, and CIV3 and it freeses at times.

  18. I agree wholeheartedly.

One of the greatest logical fallacies I find in the Linux vs. Windows argument is when people bring in the tired, "Well, my Windows PC has been on nonstop for a YEAR now and it's slowing down!" Windows was never DESIGNED (and - arguably - neither was consumer PC hardware) to be running for that length of time without rebooting. And things like defragging or emptying temporary files are routine computer maintenence, just like having your oil changed or tires rotated on your car - if you're complaining about Windows slowing down when you refuse to do these nessecary tasks on a regular basis, then again your complaints don't hold water.

First, unless the latest security updates have turned XP into HAL, I'd be pretty confidiant in saying that the 'virus hacking attempts' (I assume you meant virii and/or hacking attempts) was not caused by Windows, but rather by outside software and/or persons. As with the clap, a good firewall will help keep your system virus and intruder free.
And for your word processor issue... first, burn your Works CD and go buy a proper word processing program like MS Word. Second, I'd imagine that when you attempt to copy and paste a formatted webpage into ANY word processing program, you'd end up with the same problem of it looking scary ugly.

Just a few things that I figure are less the fault of one's OS and more the user's problem.

I keep it clean, virus scans, spyware scans, defrag, clearing temp. i-net files, and it still slows down. I still admit though that I could never live without Windows.

Its just a shame the PSP couldn't include at least a 10 gig HD somewhat like iPods :(, and a slightly faster processor speed...
