Post stolen direct from a newsgroup... Notice picture 3. Seems that the Dc plug goes straight into the Rev. So maybe the talk of the stand being the power supply isnt true?
What a clear scene of journalism those pictures depict! We can almost re-create in our minds the frantic atmosphere as that internet games journalist was wisked about in a darkened room filled with others of his ilk. They, all orbiting as a group about a central cabinent containing the Revolution. Trying to take pictures of the different angles as you are passed before them. In one scene, perhaps reaching out with a Spielgergian sense of awe. And--curiously now--at one point apparently trying to offer a Nintendo DS as some sort of burnt offering oblation or perhaps a bit of sympathetic magic. We can certainly also feel as clear as anything the heart-pumping music that must have played in the background. It's a dreamy otherworld. The land of video games journalism. ...word is bondage...
Is it only me, or is the revolution bigger than "3 dvd cases" in those pictures? It look ticker, at least.
It might be because they put the PSU in the console itself instead of the stand as originally reported? http://media.revolutionreport.com/hardware/gdc06_rev3.jpg
Well, they might have hidden the "oversized 360 equivalent" PSU under the hole in that pic! That's the first thing I thought when seeing that picture.
What are you talking about? This picture: http://media.revolutionreport.com/hardware/gdc06_rev2.jpg clearly shows that the Nintendo Revolution is about the size of a Nintendo DS. The power supply must be external on that system because it says "DC in 12V." ...word is bondage...
it was a mistake, the stand was never intended to be the psu. Uh.. Didnt you understood that the DS was smaller, even if it was closer to the came than the Revo? I think you need to get new glasses, mate. ;-) That's like when you point someone who is 30 feets away with your finger, is your finger really bigger than the person you pointing at? This is called perspective.
I think they were going for the thinkness of the controller in that picture. hard to tell, crazy photographers lol
Ahahahahahahahahah.... I wonder how many people are going to get that.... That's been a running joke in my family for the last 10 odd years...
UCB? They're Canadian too? Oh, just to let you know, you're all handling my ass pennies. <on topic> Uh...Revo info tomorrow...yay!
I compared a DVD case and a dual USB port and found them both to be the same size. Now, you can easily fit three dual USB ports (= three DVD cases) along the entire thickness of the console, and that's agreeable with what we heard at E3 regarding the size.
If you watched kids in the hall there no way you won't know that, now does anyone recognize the skit from kids in that hall thats my avatar? Going back to the subject, is the sensor bar suppose to be wireless?
Ah kids in the Hall, awesome comedy! the trappers going around the sity in a kayak catching businessmen is still one of the best things ever made! Yeah definitely an outside powerbrick, unless they are going to convert all your houses to run 12V off the mains. The sensor bar is still the big unknown in all this, and I suspect may have unwelcome dimensions and/or requirements.
Not a bad looking machine, although yes, it does look a bit thicker than 3 dvd cases. I hope the final desgin is a little sexier, this thing looks kinda like an external dvd drive. Kids in the hall was da bomb back in the day. "Cat on my head! Cat on my head!"
