I am begining to doubt whether the stig was Schumacher and just noticed in the credits that they have it listed as the stig then special guest micheal shumacher but who knows??

It just strikes me as odd that they would have some as great as an F1 legend doing what the stig does, also i think becuase he is such a legend in f1 and all that i think you can't just introduce someone like that in the usual way.

LOL, i was sitting in my computer chair in my room next to my computer with this thread open whilst watching top gear on my telly and becuase it was shumacher they introduced i felt i had to post right away. Had it been someone else i might have waited to post.

Shcumacher was only there to drive the Ferrari FXX around the track!
The interview clarkson gave was more interested in his old F1 days and why he rammed Hill of the track! Not stig based questions...

Even at the end when the 'stig' stalled.. then got lost in the reasonably priced car... Clarkson said,, oh well maybe not.


Same as when Mark Webber held up the I am the Stig T-shirt! They just throwing a spanner into the works.!

I seen the Top gear Live tour.. and Ben collins was there.. and the stig.. but not at the same time !

 

When watching the FXX go round the track I said to Owen (my son) that it wasn`t the Stig driving as I could tell from the different build...........how sad is that

Yeah, the way they just simply dropped Schumacher in our laps made it seem pretty bogus.
The FXX run did seem a bit twitchy and tossy, it seems like the Stig always makes cars look calm and smooth.

Regardless, I kinda want to shovel some coal. Really.

I wonder how "Schumi" would have time to appear on the show to do the laps and tape the challenges, while in the was still driving and in the middle / ending of a F1 Season. Plus, when he was driving in F1, drivers used to test between races all the time. In his case, in Mugello.

"The Stig" is an icon. I bet there are more than 10 drivers who portraited him. English x Germans challenge? Driving a DBR9? Probably a driver of the official Aston Martin GT team.

Winter Challenge when "The Stig" riding a snowmobile down a ski-jump? Probably someone that races Snowmobiles or participate on XGames kind of events. And this goes on and on for everytime he appeared on a challenge or testing cars on the TG track.

I honestly don't care who is "The Stig". Like i said, it became an icon. Revealing that would just kill it, like the Black Stig. :lol:

I am quite happy that they never actually revealed the true stig but must say they couldn't have introduced Schumacher in any better way than what they did.

i am still looking forward to the rest of the series and can't wait for one of their challenges with cheap cars they buy (if they have one this series) becuase they are always fun.

Strong first episode of the season I must admit. Although will see if the budget cuts affect the rest of the season that much.

 

As long as they keep making challenges using old cars and making reviews of a fast car per episode, i'm happy

 

Exactly. I don't think they'll ever make enough budget cuts to make the show bad in any way.

 

If you guys want to see a really shitty car show then check out Classic Gear. It was shown on the UK ITV4 channel. It should have ran for 10 shows but it was so piss poor that the canceled it after 4 :lol:

I'm sure i was watching a bit of that Classic Gear on ITV4 not too long ago and hated it just as much as that other show they have Used Car Roadshow although i never knew it ws supposed to be 10 shows but was cancelled after 4 but i guess i can see why.
