http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF3fED8EXl4&e Looks more like ICO than SotC, unless your pet griffon/dragon/rat grows up at some point. Looks pretty epic, and finally justifying my purchase of a PS3.
Does anyone else think that thing looks a bit like a chihuahua? Also, that trailer doesn't really tell you what the gameplay is like.
I bet the giant feathered Dog-possum thing dies at the end. But after the end credits it revives it its adult form.
I guess the "major" plot twist will be the animal dying and the audience crying in the end. It saddens me that it just reeks of cliche, especially considering how unique the previous two games were. I ll have to wait for the reviews for this one, I m in no mood for yet another video game trying to get emotional - I m just here for the fun, not the drama. PS: the gameplay obviously comprises of two parts, as far as I can deduct from the video a) platforming with some assistance of the gryphon-like animal b) battles riding the animal, judging by the arrows it carries in its body while under-water, and perhaps some on-foot battles. yawn.
C'mon, now... you're judging a game that hasn't come out yet on something that may or may not happen in the story. Give it a chance.
I guess I missed which cliche involves gigantic feathered rats. Even your definition makes is sound better than anything on the Wii.
Anyone know where the music is from? It sounds like it was taken from a Pixar movie. It seems really familiar. Anyways, some of it looks good. Other parts look horrible (visually speaking). I don't really want to play as Dora the Explorer's cousin... We'll see what it's like when it's finished. I hope they weren't saving this for E3.
AH! I knew it was from somewhere. Just watched that movie a couple weeks ago. Oh, and I guess this video is over a year old.
oh but I will. I just want to avoid it if it entails me feeling sorry for the said animal in any way. I m not into sentimental shit (with regard to pets/animals), that's all. I m certain the gameplay will be top notch regardless of the formula - the key concept in their games has always been solitude and mystery, and that's what I hope they achieve. I was impressed enough to bother to write an opinion on the matter, something I don't usually do if a game screams "Crap". Regarding the depth of wii games GP: that's an easy statement to make coming from someone who by default doesn't appreciate the Wii on its merits. It's a bit of a generalisation to say "no wii game has depth", and I m certain you know that for a fact but like to jerk my chain :110: PS: the cliche, for me, is: Mysterious/legendary animal helps character for no apparent reason, they have a handful of adventures together, the thing dies in the end. It's almost romantic, and I hate romantic.
1: FUCK THIS GOD DAMN VBulletin horse shit. Okay, for the second asshole time... :/ ... Didn't like any of the Panzer Dragoon series? I appreciate games on their merits in general, and most new games appeal to me in the absolute least. I don't want to play games that require Dual Shock, much less the Wiimote, so you can see where my woes are coming from. I'm thinking of changing my online alter ego's name to ArcadeAsshole. Although I did finally load up Twilight Princess the other day.* I'm sure it has it's reasons. I can't believe nobody has pointed out the obvious cliche that has been avoided. The developers have, at least at this point, fought their innate Japanese instincts to make it cute (and or pink). *Gamecube version of course. ** Don't let all the Wii hate get to you. I own one, but it is pretty much a Mario Kart devoted machine now that I cleared Oboromuramasa. Contra Rebirth is looking like a download though.
When did that happen? It actualy worked for me off and on while I was in china (back in march). Just kind of odd when it prefered to work or not.
best ps3 game, period. looks unbelievably good, I love shaky camera and lightning is second to none. definitely my most anticipated title for PS3. loved first two to death.
I know the PS3 isn't exactly flooded with good exclusives, but isn't calling it the best PS3 game based on one video a bit too much? Anyway, the Ico guys are kinda overrated, but this has potential to be a decent game, especially if they can actually manage a steady framerate this time.
Don't you people realize this footage was not made for public viewing, it's an internal video and over a year old.. and it still looks amazing
Wow, this trailer tells us nothing about the game itself and people are already saying it sucks/game of the year. Stupid.
