owning both consoles, my preference is for ps3 atm. I bought two of the biggest 360 exclusives (gears 2, halo 3) expecting to be blown away but came back utterly disapointed. gears 2 is a very boring game imo (even though there's a shitload of action) halo 3 is a bit fun at the start but really boring near the end. i had more fun playing some of the unpopular such as pgr3 and lost planet but it's better to play them on pc.

my recommendation is for you people who are deciding whether to get a 360 is to upgrade their computers :D

Whoops. That was a typo. I'll correct it.

The Japanese 360 has, oddly enough, that whole niche thing going for it and it's not slowing down. So, as dumb as this sounds, if you're sick of first-person shooters and whatnot but want a current console, get a J-360.

Those games aren't on the PC. :p Aside from LP, which the PC one, at least last time I checked, had lots of problems unless Colonies fixed it. I wanted to love that game but CHRIST, it throws so much god damn snow/smoke effects everywhere you can't see a god damned thing. Cross play is cool though!

Luckily Gears 2 multiplayer is way more fun then the original, even if people are still totally fucking ridiculous. Horde mode is tons of fun.

Yeah! I really want to get one. I just don't want to pay for shipping. :(

You cannot get the Japanese XB360 [officially] repaired in the US, at least that is my understanding.

Am I the only one who thinks Trico looks like an upped PS2 title? I've played a lot of Ico and SotC, and with those games you could really see that programmers and artists went out of their way to make it work. Sure, SotC had some minor framerate issues, but nothing that affected gameplay in a major way, plus you did have the ginormous, animated stone colossi and vast landscapes.

Being a PS3 title, Trico falls a bit short. I would still play it, even if it was a PS2 title ported directly to PS3, but it's not. I can totally dig the art direction, but for now it seems a bit last gen. And don't go "Hey, I can't see THIS shader effect happening on PS2, so shut it" on me. I'm just saying that after seeing what can be done on a PS2, I expect so much more of PS3. After all, it's supposed to be the most powerful console on the market.

Been waiting for this for years. 'Nuff said.

How dare you make such an accusation of a game "falling short" when it is not finished or released? ESPECIALLY when the basis is a early, even pre-E3 trailer on youtube.

I dare, because it's true. Besides, they did publish this material so that people could comment on it. If someone at Sony reads me complaining about it, maybe they'll go "Hey, this guy is right ... It does look like a PS2 game. We better get off our asses and go to work *busy busy busy*". They probably won't, though.

I remember watching first videos of MGS2 on PS2 and even though it was all beta, I was impressed with what I saw. Here it's only "meh..." - I will most likely end up buying this, because like I said, I loved Ico and SotC. This however doesn't change the fact that the game doesn't show much more than the aforementioned titles already did.

Get yourself a US unit and swap out whatever's broken. Easy.

What is there to swap out? Parts list should include the motherboard (and heatsinks), dvd drive, fans, fan shroud, ring of light panel.

Unrelated: Morden, you know those feathers (or whatever) on the big opossum creature are badass. :D

Meh ... They're cool I gues. Haha. Don't get me wrong - I DO like how this game looks, but for some reason, it still screams "pee ass too". Plus, like I said, it's not as breathtaking as SotC was on PS2 ... I mean, come on. Lush vegetation, vast landscapes, enormous moving colossi with fur and what have you? If a PS2 could pull THAT off, I want to be BLOWN AWAY by Trico. Not just "Oh, a nice looking game".

Plus I have this "seen it" feeling too. The ruins look almost exactly like those from Ico and you have a huge beast to deal with? Huge beast? Does that ring any bells? Big fuck off monsters made of stone, hair, eggnog, soil and God knows what else? That's right. Shadow of the Colossus.

And that bit about swapping out X360 parts was a bad joke. Haha.

It's so easy to tell what's broken in one as well.

To be fair, MGS2 looked impressive because everything that was shown was meant to be released. This, not so much.

I think we should keep im mind that this is probably an old trialer. The teaser picture that was released Jan '08 is from the start of this trailer.

I fully expect the finished product to look substantially better.

The only thing I think that falls a bit short in that demo is the kid. But it is probably a fairly early demo.

The fluid nature of the animation and the details on the griffin chick is very nice, to my eyes.
