Why can't we discuss rumors and speculate? I mean obviously no, we have no idea if it's true or not, but sharing ideas and thoughts isn't hurting anything. If someone chooses to believe every bit of info as true, then that's there prerogative.

My thoughts on the subject, I really don't like touch screens. I've got really large hands, and I have enough trouble as is to use my damn smart phone. Can't type at all. These gimmicks have always been around, just the gimmick itself changes. I'm happy any day with a snes controller over the wiimote or a Kinect.

The VMU wasn't high enough a resolution or in color to use of too much use. A touchscreen would be somewhat pointless for any game fast paced enough to keep you on your toes. I wouldn't want to stop in the middle of Half-Life 2 to press some buttons just to reload or check my inventory when on an onscreen HUD is just fine.

Besides, these rumors are thrown around before any possible console release; the PS2 was to get Toy Story level graphics for example. I just can't imagine why anyone over the age of about 15 would eat these things up.

 

I wish they would make consoles that would output to multiple screens. I want F355 Challenge on a console with 3 screens.

Actually I believe the PS3 can do that for multiplayer. It's called SimulView or something.

 

The PS3 initially shipped with 2 HDMI outs for just that.

 

The 360 and PS3 can both it with Forza 3/4 and GT5 (probably other games too), but you need a console and a copy of the game for each screen, so...I guess it's not really outputting to multiple screens?

 

To be fair, thats how F355 did it as well. Multiple Naomi motherboards.

I can confirm that officially I like the rumor. But also dont look at my controller while playing, only when I drop it on the floor by accident.

Well, as an avid Dreamcast gamer, I loved the VMU and have no understanding for why the other videogame systems didn't investigate the potential of it. That said, I never used it while playing proper DC games. I remember some had functions like in a car game (F355?) you could see where the car behind you was placed, but you immediately lost momentum while gazing down on your controller while playing such an action packed game.

It would do miracles with menu heavy games like Championship Manager, RPG's and so on though.

 

If I want a DS I'll buy a DS but keep that shit off my TV
