"Nintendo: ‘No Plans’ to Remove Region-Locking, Parental Controls Cited"

Oh no guys, I can't import my shitty overdone jrpg/animu fighting game/farted out overpriced and behind the times cave game. Whatever will I do?

 

it's not just that, its also certain regions get gimped copies of games, happened in the USA to a few lightgun games, they got them without the lightgun support.

also places like germany and australia with content restrictions and overly zealous censorship / classification boards.

also for people living in different regions and other games not being released worldwide. developing nations such as Indonesia may not get official releases.

 

Yeah but lets be honest here, the majority of peoples problems with region locking is they can't import said Japanese junk games.

 

im not an rpg fan or a bullet hell shmup fan either but region locking still pisses me off, it's the "im alright, doesn't affect me" attitude that lets companies(and governments) get away with all kinds of bullshit, and region locking is complete bullshit, even more so in this day and age.

And plus you never know if they'll be a really awesome action adventure type game that is only in Japan that you like then what? because america never really gives two shits about good quality games ever! unless if it's another generic IP made game then yeah i'll get an damn automatic release date like it makes no sense to bore people all the time. :-\

 

I only want to import one game for the 3DS

The first game for GBA (GC Player support) sold well in Japan prompting the release of a sequel to be localized (known as "Rocket Slime") which did not sell well outside Japan. Due to this, the game's 3DS title is Japan only. Everyone who I ask what they think of this game says they love it or that they never heard of it/played it. They should really release a demo and localize it. The demo would get people addicted to the series.

P.S. It is a spin-off series to "Dragon Quest" in case you didn't pick that up.

If you think they will be the only company to do it, then you're in for a surprise. There is a reason streaming is built into the new consoles : control. With that, less people will discover that they can actually make money streaming.

Companies seem to be "backing out" a lot lately... I wish Sony joined that fashion with the PS2 HDD / PS2 Linux, and with PS3 Other OS... oh well.
