    this will not end well.

No word on specs makes me think it's still just a DS. Yet what do game devs need to do to support the new features? Can games posibly support both at the same time? If not consumers are fucked as devs will probably only target the DS it self and not the DSi features if they can't have a game that can use the new features while still being able to run on current DS models.

if it's not multi-touch why bother?

i'm midly interested atm since I still have phatty and have no need for psp3000 (my slim is just fine) but i'm not entirely sold on it being worth it (other then maybe the ds store).

    • Dual Touch and 99% of the commercial Software can't use it
    • Shitty Cam (WTF 0.3MP/640x480), cheap mobiles have much better)
    • No more GBA compability
    • Maybe its thinner but here it looks like overall bigger
    • Music + Picture thing is nothing new if you own a M3 / Simply
    So whats good on this?
The new DS wants a piece from the PSP-is-more-than-a-Gaminghandheld-Cake but i'm pretty sure its not a big deal... OK, all the little girls and boys outthere will love to buy this dated Hardware for a high price... Just like the Wii ;-)

That's the inside camera. The outside one is 3MP. Yes, it has two, check the DSFanboy article posted above.

It does make me wonder....two cameras, internal and SD storage, dual touch screens, stick an aerial in there and you have a pretty competent mobile phone.....

The dual touch could be a bit a of a worry. I can't see casual gamers coping with "DSi only" titles.

There's nothing wrong with the Wii. Try playing one to find out and I don't mean the shit that the high street store push.

As for this new DS, well, the extras are nice but for the price I'd want a few more extras worth having. As for a dual touch screen I can't see the point. What's the big deal about choosing options on both screens by touching it? I can't see anyone bothering to make something that will only run on the DSi.

    First PSP-3000, now DSi.

Who else is now happy they didn't buy a PSP-2000 or DS Lite?

this is very odd considering consoles need to have a standard feature-set and uniform support all over.

I m certain that the dual touch screen is there just for applications and games will be restricted to use a single one - otherwise it wouldn't make any sense :S

GBA slot is probably removed so that they can offer GBA games over the network, like VC.

a built-in browser should translate to more memory, and quite alot more actually if they want their browser to be anything more than a novelty.

I agree, it's likely only for applications as opposed to commercially released games- it would make this a replacement DS as the DSlite wouldn't support new games, so it looks like more of an upgrade for those who would like the extra features.

Perhaps the downloadable content on DSware would support the extra touch screen. IMO iusing the top screen for touch would be awkward, you still have to hold the system with one hand and your stylus hand would be at an awkward angle- trying holding your DS and tapping on the top screen, it's a pain to be accurate and not very comfortable.
