I didnt start this to hate on nintendo. I currently enjoy my gamecube much more than xbox or ps2, both of which I only really played a few games on, MGS for ps2 and halo for xbox. I just think it's odd that nintendo would delay showing off their console while the other two are getting hype and developers behind them.

As for my comment about the pie in the sky idea of nintendo partnering with microsoft...it would expose their games to a bigger audience instead of making people ingnore them because they appear on the "kiddie" console.

I'd personally be fine with just hearing about the new zelda though...

    :D

I agree with Xerdo. We've not seen shit yet and everyone is already bitching. TGS is only 4 months after E3. With the way news is covered these days, there will be plenty of attention there.

Dynasty Warriors, Darkstalkers, Gretzky, Ridge Racer.

And that NFS game looks pretty good, gonna have to check it out.

    I stand by my comment.

I disagree - on the hardware front, Sony's consoles are definitely innovative, and if this CELL thing goes through it will be like the most innovating hardware architecture since a LONG time.

Even if Nintendo decides not to show Revolution publicly there's still a good chance we'll see pics of it since it will almost certainly be there behind closed doors. I doubt even Nintendo's infamous security precautions will be able to stop someone from taking a snapshot from their phone. Personally I think it's a bad idea to not stand toe to toe with MS and Sony. It sends the signal that they're reluctant to show off their system next to the PS3 and 360.

    Yeah, AntiPasta's right.
The hardware of all three HAS to be quite innovative, physically.

I was referring to innovation in the software front, though.
I'm still getting over the drought that was the PS2 - and don't get me started on that Xbox.
Damn, maybe I'm getting old, but I miss the 16 and 32 bit days.

Yeah, it seems the market's just too full of sequels, re-hashes and spin-offs these days - not exactly what I would call "innovative". And I'm talking about all consoles.

I know there's always been sequels and stuff but it feels to me like every 9 in 10 new games are fooking sequels - is it just me or is it getting worse?

It's the same as it has always been.

It's just that you remember the "good" games and forget the 90% "crap" games from your youth. ;)

If the revolution is indeed that special, then I would wait until it was too late for sony or microsoft to change their console designs or controller designs before going to release.

If it's truely as special as they say, then it makes sense.

I just hope that it's not a let down. Controller now with PIKA VISION or some nonsense.

Yeah, Revolution is likely going to be an actual living Pokémon, which you have to feed and pet in order to play games. Be warned though, they bite and are not suitable for children under the age of 5.

Did Sp0ng originally report this news? If I'd have known that I'd have asked the moderators to lock it. They're always full of shit.

It's been Sequel-City since the PS2. All the good games I have bought are sequels or rehashes. I have like 4 non-sequels.
Other than Viewtiful Joe or Zone of the Enders 2 (ZOE1 was kind of a dud, but a PS2 original), or maybe Ring of Red, I can't think of that many original great games.

Not that sequels aren't great as well, though.

Games are what matters. If a sequel is good, then it's a good game. Look at the dreamcast - weren't there complaints that they "didn't use Sega's franchises". There was a lot of original gaming there and people still complained. There were many great games, also.

There weren't that many sequels on the Dreamcast... well sequels of games that were originally on something else, at least. Most the good games (well the ones I remember) like Virtua Tennis, Shenmue, MSR and Crazy Taxi were all original DC titles, or in some cases original Naomi titles, but that's close enough ^_^

I certainly don't think it was the PS2 that started these chronic lines of sequels, though. Nintendo are just as bad, if not worse.

    Yeah, I think so.

Fragland reported the story was a hoax, they contacted Nintendo and they said Revolution would definately be on the show.

I don't know much about "Fragland" but I like them a whole lot better now.
