So, it seems that the X360 PSU is a little on the, ahem, large side then.

Let's hope these are slightly improved build quality over Xbox PSUs. If these start randomly blowing-up, it'll take your X360, the telly and half the livingroom with it. Kaboom

No big deal to me really. The PSU stays hidden behind my entertainment center anyway. :)

  6. It's to power the nuclear accelerator that drives the three CPU cores, duh.

And StarWolf, your DoDonPachi avatar is awesome.

speaking of xbox PSU's..there was a guy over at xbox-scene a while back that said he bough a few broken xboxes off ebay and opened them up to find fried roaches inside...it was pretty damn funny with all the pics and stuff he showed.

Why can`t they have it inside the machine like PS2/XBox???

I know it may increase the size a little but it better not be anywhere near that size or I won`t be in a ruah to get a bakc strain lifting that out of the box :-D

Ironically enough, size. Judging from the pictures, it would increase the size of the Xbox 360 more than just a "little" :).

It actually doesn't bother me in any way - it just looks rather comical thats all! I'm all for slimmer consoles at the cost of something bigger to hide. I am a little concerned about how hot that things gonna get, after all sony messed up with external power supplies. No surprises if there is an early re-call...

b\c the psu generates heat and that would probably force the xbox360 designers to add a big fan on it that will make it just as noisy as this generations console.. hopefully by moving it outside the console, the console will generate less heat and make the consoles less noisy.

By the looks of it, that PSU will need a fan because it is just way too big. The average american house has clutter everywhere and this PSU will be behind the entertainment center where there is no ventilation, so the heat will build up and possibly cause a fire.

well if I had to pick between a screaming xbox and a xbox with a ghost trap attached to it would pic the ghost trap any day (I atleast hope that this will make it sound less.. I want my consoles to be as quiet as they we're in the pre-gen (before ps2,xbox,gc) )
