I'm not that big of a fan of the NXE. I just still think the whole system menu for the 360 is a bit crap. I guess it is better than the original blades in terms for speed. I used to always get bad system lag when trying to load up the guide when in certain games like HALO3, but with the latest NXE it seems a little bit better.
Oddly, before NXE was dropped I was a big opponent of this major change. I thought the display looked ugly, the interface pointless and of no value whatsoever over the Blades. I spent plenty of time looking at screenshots and videos and saying 'this is going to be horrible and I can't see the point of it'. Everyone was so used to the blades interface and thought it 'just worked'. However, after installing it and using it for a week I don't think I would ever be able to change back. I'm actually really impressed with it. Yes, sure, the avatar system is a worthless addition but some people like that sort of thing. Yes, team chat isn't necessarily important and not everyone wants to install the game on their console. Not everyone likes the idea of grouping friends together so that they can all leap into a game much quicker than before. On the flip side though, I now find the old blades system clunky and unintuitive. I can't really imagine going back. Maybe it's just me....
